I think the Scion leather steering wheel will fit. I could be wrong though... since I have a crappy 05 steering wheel.

if you are getting an aftermarket sterring wheel like a nardi or momo or personal (insert Weksos plug here) then 99.99% of the time there is no way to bring factory options like an airbag or audio controls over. If you are just getting the nicer leather wheel from Scion, I know the airbag will go but the the audio controls are a big questions mark. I dont think they make one that lets them transfer.

Someone posted that the tC one works with xA/xB with audio controls. Ask a dealer.

The 2006 Scion Leather Steering wheel option ($299) does keep the audio controls.

I did notice that it looks more silver than gray (on the two portions which aren't black). The Scion website shows gray. One of the dealer catalogs showed gray and one showed the more silver version. My dealer ordered it (it was the only thing not Port Installed), but it was more silver.

It looks pretty good, but I would have preferred the gray. Did anyone get the 2006 Scion Leather Steering wheel? If so, was it gray or more silver? I would expect my dealer ordered the correct thing but maybe Scion changed it or is shipping them interchangeably.

The steering wheel is nice. It is two tone, with part black and part silver/gray (the silver/gray portion is perforated leather the black portion is non-perforated leather). IMO, it feels much nicer than the plastic wheel and looks good. It was expensive, but I like it.

You have the option of red or gray/silver for the leather steering wheels from dealers that keep the factory audio controls. The cheapest place that I've seen is from www.scionpartspeople.com for about $230 shipped for the gray/silver. www.trdsparks.com has about the same price shipped, but they have the part # for the old style wheel without the audio controls listed so you might could give them a call and get the newer style wheels for about the same price.

For the gray/silver you need part #08460-21810

For the red you need part #???????????---I don't know this part #.

So does anyone know 100% if the tC steering wheel fits the xA?

And I may need to post this up in the tC forum, but are all the tC steering wheels leather? or is that just an option? I think I'd prefer the solid black of the tC leather steering wheel if it fits.

I didn't think the standard Tc steering wheel was leather.

You can go to the Scion website and probably tell from the interior pictures.

I'm not sure either on the leather. Gonna hit my dealer up this weekend as well as some friends to find out.

Here are some ebay auctions that I was basing that question on. Especially that second one.

Ah, they are leather huh.....sweet, I think I found my avenue of a leather wheel for my xA then. I do like the solid black as opposed to the gray/silver and black. If I can pick up a dealer take off somewhere for 50-60 bucks, then I'd be saving about $170 from what I could get the sport wheel for.

Do you think the steering wheel audio controls would hook up no problem?

Should be either a direct bolt up or plug up. Either take the existing ones and transfer them over or if the new wheel has them already then they should plug right up.

I'll let you know if I can find anything out on Saturday from my dealer. Gonna run by there to have em swap out or order me a new auto dimming rear view mirror. Mine has this terribly annoying buzzing intermittantly.

I would be more concerned about whether or not the airbag mounted in the TC steering wheel is compatable with the xA's airbag controller.....though the wheels themselves look the same.

I just hope I don't get stuck with an idiot at the parts counter when I'm asking about it. Most of the time I feel more comfortable with answers off here than I do from my dealer.

I suck, I never let you guys know about this when I found out. I swapped my wheel out today and it reminded me of this thread.

The wheel with audio controls it a direct replacement for the '06 xA wheel with controls. Airbag is not a problem 100% bolt up.

All tC's come stock with a leather wheel...except for the tC's with the spec package. The spec tC comes with a urethane wheel, no leather.

A big thanks to Garage1217 for my green led's for my steering wheel controls too. They look a ton better than the amber color along with the green on my Eclipse.

So the Tc steering wheel fits the xA (just asking to be certain that is what you are saying)?

How was the install? Was it at all hard. I assume you have to pry off the silver plastic things from the steering wheel. Do you even remove the airbag?

Thanks.
