updating my own question...

You need a 10mm hex bit to remove the trans plug (3.99 at autozone)

The gasket has a part number of 90430-18008 at my toyota dealership and cost me a whopping 1.52.

They didnt have a drain plug in stock but that would have cost around 2.50.

I only bought the gasket since the plug was out of stock.

I will update with how much trans fluid comes out since I am doing just from the plug.. not a full flush.. Doubtful I will get it done today yet, so looks like an early morning job tomorrow.

The car only has 35k miles on it, but I figure, every 15k miles Ill do trans and every 5k the oil since I am using fully synthetic. Ill tackle the trans a 2nd time in 10k though then it will be on regular and easy to remember miles.

Are you talking about auto trans or manual trans? The manual trans gasket is size M18.

Sorry I meant auto.

Did the drain tonight after all.. My fluid was still red.. However afterI emptied the drain pan, there was small metal fragments.. Nothing to worry about since I know every Trans has some shavings.

I still think it was worth it.. Didn't hurt anything.
