Trouble starting 2005 scion xa
My wife has been complaining that her 2005 scion xa sometimes will not start.
She will park at a store for instance, shop and then come back to a car that will not start. She turns the ignition and no response from the starter at all.
Usually after several tries or waiting a while the car will finally start.
There was an aftermarket alarm installed when we bought the car... I removed the computer from it, but I left the starter disable circuit on there for now since I did not have time to cut/redo the wiring.
ALSO she said she noticed that her clock time had been reset (She noticed it was 1pm when it was about 4pm).
ANY IDEAS of what it could be?
I already plan on removing the starter disable curcuit that remains from the aftermarket alarm (not connected to power or the alarm brains currently). I also thought maybe the battery terminals were loose (could explain the clock being reset).

Since the clock resets when you disconnect the battery that might be the cause, no power to the starter. Do you know if that alarm disconnects the battery somehow? Did she notice if the dome lights came on when she opened the door the times it didn't start?
