Default Two Keys Help!!!

I just bought my 2004 Indigo Ink Pearl XA. I am waiting for my owners manual.

I got two keys with it and one opens the doors and another starts the car. Why is this? I tried to search but could not find anything.

I think your dealer jacked you, both keys should work on the door and the starter.

Did the dealer tell you that, or did you try them and that is how they work? The Scion xA should have the same key work for the doors and the ignition. If yours really don't work that way, take it back to the dealer and have new keys made or something. That isn't the way it was designed.

Years ago, alot of cars (mainly American cars I think) had separate keys for the doors and the ignition, but I don't think any cars do that today.

Thanks for the info. That really stumped me. I wonder if the car was broken into and they changed the ignition key.
