Default USED XA'S COST MORE THAN NEW ONES ?

I was looking at the autotrader site and noticed that used 04,05, and some 06 xa's actually were selling for more than new ones ! These are cars with 15,20,30k miles !!!
This seems crazy to me, but I am still waiting for my xa which was ordered 10/11 so I can see why some people might not want to wait and would be willing to buy a used one so they could take it home today. Also I guess dealers figured out pretty quick that "pure pricing" only need apply to new vehicles. So I guess they price used ones at what ever the market will allow. I feels pretty good to know that I could possibly sell my xa used for more than I paid for it !! What do you all think ? Check it out for yourself at autotrader.com.

I have noticed that too. A couple of weeks ago I was getting my oil changed and saw there was a xA on the lot. Naturally I went and checked it out. It had nothing added to it, was an 04 and selling for 14,900. I was like ummmmm. I bought an 05 with cruise and keyless entry for less. I guess some people are desperate to join the scion family.

you also have to remember that dealers can negotiate the price on used scions. So they are going to raise the price to give them some bargain room. New scions are sold with that whole pure price thing which leaves no room for bargaining.

xB's are selling for over 20k now too, i saw a camo one way back when they came out, used on the lot with rims for 18k, that was then and it onl lasted a few weeks, so yeah this is nuts a few people could sell their 05's and make a nice profit

With all that being know can I get some help deciding 2 asking prices. Ill list what ive done to my car and im looking for Private Party price, and dealer price.

Car was bought in CA and tayed here its whole life. No real mountains driven on, and its seen about 4 months total of rain.No snow or harsh conditions for the car to be in.

2004 xA

30,000 miles ( 27K now, expected 30K by sale time )
Hotckins front sway bar ( dealer option )
Fog Lights ( dealer option )
Scion Security ( dealer option )
225w Pioneer 6" speakers in all 4 doors
JL 10w0 in JL Power Wedge Box
Rockford Amp
15" Proline Rims ( typical 6 spoke tuner cheapies on new tires )
CF Shift Boot by MotorFX ( killer product BTW )

Finally the most important.... Molded LJ Garcia Widebody Kit Painted Burple. The bumpers torqued and twisted 1", and where the mold was done stress cracks are now showing.

With all that know fill in the blanks and help me out if you car.

Expected Private Party Return___________
Expected Dealer Trade In ______________

Hopefully some Scion dealers are knowledgeable and can fill in the 2nd value and nail down a value.

it is all supply and demand. it peaked around summer just after graduation. it did with the mini cooper too. i sold my stripped cooper after 9 months (7000 miles) and made $3000 around end of june of 2004.

Well i think the used scions are selling higher in some places because of more than one reason. For starters, it has to do with supply and demand. Some areas where scions are really popular and high demand, they sell them for a higher price. However i looked into some used scions, and most are higher priced because of the factory mods that were included. You have to remember when u get a brand new scion for the base price it doesnt come with the mods that some of the used scions are with. For example someone might have paid well over 20K for their xB because of all the extras they put in it, so im guessing they will sell it for more than a new basic xB because they spent alot more extra money on the car.

Is there any way you can take care of the cracks? Because right now, to a potential buyer, it is just a slapped on body kit.

Not downing what you have done, just saying from an outsiders point of view.

I can take care of the cracks but im not sure if what ill have to pay ill get back with the sale.
oh and not that its a biggie draw in or expensive but i have the CF pillars from the dealer i forgot about.
Ive seen another widebody xA with no stress cracks yet, and the correct offset rims go for around 19K on e-bay. I just need help figuring out how close i could expect to get to that withe the body work needed and rims needed. Im especially needing dealer opinion because thats who will probably get my car.
