I don't really like the XDs much but I think if my car dies 5-6 yrs from now I would probably pick up either an XD or a car like it.

I <3 my car though

boy if you think your car will last that long i figure it'll last at least 15-20 years maybe more if you maintained it

but if for some odd reason my car dies it's gonna get replaced by some thing cheaper and maybe more fuel economy or say like a yaris sedan

As much as I liked the way the xD drives, I still just can't get pass that fugly front end. Unless the midlife cycle update cures this or somebody comes out with a bodykit to correct the front end I just can't buy one. Plus I would like to upgrade my ride instead of just sidestepping. I'd also like to get a car with alittle more aftermarket support, as well as being pretty quick out of the box. Civic Si is very nice, next gen tC should be out in a year year and a half, Hyundai Genesis out at the end of the year, Toyota/Subaru Coupe for 2010, Nissan RWD coupe about 2010, and Alfa Romeo and Fiat are suppose to finally be returning to the U.S. by the end of the decade.......Alot of other cars I would buy well before I would consider owning an xD.

I'll be staying small, but I don't know if I'll be staying with Scion.

Time will tell. But I have my goals set on a Mini Cooper S.

I wouldn't stay with Scion. Always bad dealership/salesperson/so on and so on experiences. Oh, and you do know Toyota is currently in second place for reliability ratings right? Die in 5 to 6 years, what are you thinking? You must be one of those people that has to buy a new car as soon as your current one is paid off.

Why would you consider that one? More room? Gas mileage goes down to 25mpg average. Right now, I'd go with a hybrid, prices will only go up.

How do you know that, the Cube hasn't even come out yet and the Versa is getting 33 mpg and that is the drivetrain that it is prolly going to use. I would get it because I am a Nissan fan, and MPGs. It is suppossed to fill the first gen XBs niche in the market. I really don't know where you are getting your figures from??

What are you talking about? I thought by the cube he meant the xB.

Smarts are RWD...watch out in the snow, and have fun drifting with the Brabus turbo kit hehe! but 45-50 mpg is sweet, and i'll have an excuse as to why i cannot drive more than 1 person (LOL).

I want a second smart with the hyboosta motorcycle engine as my sports car. Lost of yourtube videos of that hack and people drifting those cars around like over powered golf carts.

I think one of the requirements to make the smart US approved was to incluse skid control to make it stable for such a short wheelbase.

Yeah with 5 and 10 dollar a gallon gas coming, that fuel economy would be sweet.

I've read that the smart car get about the same mileage as the xA and first xB, in the 30's. Why would anyone want one? They are made by Mercedes and Mercedes has the worst reliability rating of any car brand. Besides, they start at $12000, thats pretty sad, they shouldn't be over $10,000. The only thing they're good for is that mod with the motorcycle engine, but even then still too much money.

Actually, Mercedes' reliability ratings as of late, are much better than they were in the early part of the current decade.

Regardless, the Smart is overpriced for what it is. It's nothing more than a fashion vehicle if you don't live in a congested city.

I was a previous benz owner and its a difference in everything for those who pay attention to detail, feels, sounds, surfaces, etc. Benzs have a lot more work in their deisgn and you pay for it, but its a good investment. My 240d was 28 years old when it died and had over 477 thousand miles onthe original engine. Everything but the passenger side rear powered window worked.

Sure the fuel economy is of that of the old xa and xb, however those cars are no more and since the epa changed the way mpg is measured. I am sure you can easily beat that with the stock engine.

I was looking at the smart but when I find it was not going to have the diesel engine, I was against it, however diesel is way more than gas now a days.

Anyhoo, had a co worker buy a carolla 09 modelfor 15 grand and change, I may just get one of those in my xas place. Of course the hhrs by chevy no lift shift on the manual tranny model is tempting too.

Hell no!

If I keep with Toyota, I'll get a Yaris

However, I'm disappointed with how slow this car is. I'll probably upgrade to something with some *****.

As much as Hondas are my arch rivals in autocross, they are good cars, with huge aftermarket support. Maybe a Miata.

outside of this board, I've seen ONE Scion racing. I'll support a brand that supports racing & I don't consider drifting racing.

Might wanna rethink that man. Just get a subaru sti (older) and you can get a chip that can change your torque/HP distribution on the 4WD. You just set it to like 75% rear, 25hp front. But for fuel economy, get an old AE86 ;) Otherwise in the snow the handbrake is fun in this car! (Xa) lol.. Most recent 4wd's can be tuned that way too (1984+).
