Default xA Air Conditioning Leak

I have a 2006 xA. It has been great to me. I drive quite a lot and have put just over 215,000 miles on the car.

About September/October 2015, I started having issues with the AC. It would kick on, but not blow cold air. My trusty mechanic has gone over the system and still cannot find what is wrong. Ultimately we believe there to be a leak somewhere, but he cannot locate it. He does keep having to replace this small spring that he breaks every time he tests the system.

I'm trying to determine my next steps:
1) take to the dealer, whom I'm guessing will tell me to replace the entire system.
2) try another mechanic who specializes in AC.
3) start replacing pieces.

Does anyone else have this issue? I've never seen a leak that couldn't be located, but it is definitely leaking. I'll get about 2-4 weeks out of a recharge before it's blowing warm air again.

Heading into summer now - so help?!?!

Probably caught a rock in the condenser. Do the UV dye test and find out, usually can be repaired because it's on the low pressure side of compressor.
