as far as i'm concerned, none of them actually can compete with el scion xA.

Remeber to win in this race you must have had started racing years ago, say Toyota's reputation for today's success started with the reliable cheap models of the late 70's and early 80's..., they never broke, some are still burning rubber out there. I do not see many Chevelle's or Cavaliers lasting more than 3 years or should I say month's...
I own a Chevy and a Ford, but not for what they are but for what they will never be. Maybe I will sell them soon before they loose value.
Chevy, you are giving your last gasps for air. Toyota will be number 1 pretty soon, and it was planned this way, years ago. "It is a Toyoda thing, you wouldn't understand"
For the record:
Chrysler died, Ford will soon...
Enjoy

If anything, people say the xA is a mini Matrix.

My Mom has a red 2004 Matrix, and the xA does look like a shorter Martix. I think the seats in the xA are a little higher too, my toddler can see out the window in the xA and not in the Matrix in the car seat. I just wish I had her cruise control...
I am figuring everyone is going to come out with a "good" small car sooner or later. Honda kind of screwed up with the Civic Si. What if I just wanted a solid, reliable hatchback, without all the extra BS. Ooops, got one, an xA.
I think Toyota got it right with the Scion xA and xB. Give a well built, good gas mileage car with room inside and make it genuinely unique with the styling. Give most of the features most people want as standard, no mark up BS. And the Pure Price thing, that's a huge selling point for a lot of people right there.
Can't wait to see what they some up with. The latest wagon I have seen a lot of is the Dodge Magnum. They are cheaper, but still a lot more power and price than what will attract most younger buyers and new families. Besides, they look like the love child of a big truck and hearse. Which might be cool if you were into that kind of thing, but really. They have to come up with better things than that, not boring and huge.
