I've driven my cousin's xA to around 85MPH before. He hits 100 once in a while.
Most cars on the road can hit 100, but it may take a while.

i agree with it being light weight...and that engine has a lot of potential, but ive driven the yaris hatch with the same engine, and its just too slow for me....its a fun car tho.

Oh....they can go faster than 80 mph, lol! Specially; when they are driven with a lead foot.

The Yaris is geared higher, so it rates lower on the acceleratotronometer than the xA.

Do you know what would be fun? a tuned edition or a X-tuner edition with the 1ZZ-FE and a better suspension. Just make it 1,200 more expensive and give it with 14" steelies. Now that would be fun.

I can just imagine it....

2007 X-edition xA
1ZZ-FE 145HP
Sway Bar included
and other goodies.

My Toyota Echo was pretty much an xA with a less trendy body kit. They have no getupandgo whatsoever Here in WV where it's quite mountainous, I sometimes wondered if I was better off getting out and pushing the thing

edit: but don't get me wrong, I loved my little Echo (my ex-girlfriend totalled it ) and I have a lot of respect for the xA too.

Yeah. She had a pretty nice Honda Accord and so I was ok with us trading cars now and then. The accident wasn't her fault and so I ended up ok (got an xB as a replacement actually).

I'm not a sexist or something, but my everyday experience while driving is that 65% of women driving, suck at it.

Very true. ^^^

My 5 speed xA feels much more peppy than the Echo manual I drove a couple of years ago. The Echo engine was turning several hundred RPM less at highway speed than my Egg does. So that's proof of the xA'a lower gearing. The Yaris I tried out a few months back wasn't as spunky either...though it was an auto.

I'll be true on this...Take a xA on a country road. Let the downhills do the increase of speed. You'll be amazed what that little car can do! Fastest I've done in "Bullet" was 100-ish; I could of done faster but a stop light turned yellow. I'll take my car on a very hill country highway and keep same foot pressure on the gas. And I'll usually do it around 3:00-4:00 in the morning. I found out when you manually shift with automatic; you can even accelerate much faster.

yep

Can hit 118mph and still "technically stock" and with big 18wheels, since it is hard to trick the stock ECU. It is constantly fixing any change in mixture and duration.

interesting...
