Default xA paint stains

I have a lot if tiny red dots covering the top surfaces of my Silver xA. The dealer called it "industrial fallout". I've had cars here in San Diego and the Bay Area for the last 20 years and never have seen this before so it must have happened to the car while Toyota had it before I purchased it (new).

The dealer told me to "clay if off". I've done that twice with limited success.

Has anyone looked very closely at the paint, e.g on the roof, hood, top of fenders, etc and seen the tiny red dots??

I have the same problem with my Polar White... I got the same excuse from my dealer, too. Clay bar won't help much. I used a hair dryer to warm the dots up and was able to rub them out...there were quite a few of them, so I just stopped and I, now, try to ignore them.

You guys took ownership of your new cars with paint sprayed all over them?

Why didn't you just walk away from the deal?

Default paint

yeah I made the mistake of taking delivery of the car at night when I couldn't/didn't check it out closely, - I've bought a couple of new Toyotas (Camry's) assembled in Japan and had no problems at all so I guess I assumed that this one would be perfect also.

When I cleaned and waxed my Polar White xA not long after purchase I found tiny brick color specks on the bumpers. Had to be close to see it. Do not think any came off. Did not notice any on the body. At least none I could separate from insect suicide residue.

I have those "rust" spots on my car once in a while. They just appear out of nowhere, even after a good waxing.

I use a clay bar to remove them. They're a bit stubborn, but they do come off eventually :D Just make sure that you use a good amount of lubricant so you won't end up with fine scratch marks (not like you can see them on white )

i had fallout (looks just like red freckles) on my brand new white civic and i clayed it ALL off with MOTHER'S clay bar and a good carnuaba wax job. It takes a lot of elbow grease and a lot of time. You might be better off having the dealer or professional detail it for you. It costs like $75 - 125 last time i checked.

it's weird that I've never seen this before with any of my cars over the last 30 years on US/German/French/Hondas/Toyotas... in Boston (downtown even), Bay Area, So. California, Delaware... something must be up with the paint they use on Scions. I thought they picked them up in shipping or on some loading port/dock, but if they reappear it must be the paint they use.

i had my rear bumper replaced from being rear ended and it showed up again even then. The body shop i took it to was a gm dealership. so i dont think its just a toyota thing,
