Default XA Rear spolier

I found out that the (OEM) spolier does not come with the car when it's ordered. The spoiler is added on by the dealer. My question is this something that could be a DIY project. Meaning...If I was to get the rear spolier later, can this be put on at home?

I thought about doing it myself. You can certainly save money, however, I figure it probably requires some drilling and I didn't want to risk it.

Our rear spoiler was just installed yesterday. It makes the rear end look complete, and it's good for about 5 more mph.

So... did you have dealer do the install? I want the spolier either way...I just wish it was already on the car when I go to pick it up.

complements from TRD Sparks http://www.trdsparks.com/install/08150-52850-XXinst.pdf
some of the special tools required, 3mm drill bit and a special rivit tool.
I'd have the dealer install it.

Most parts put on by the dealer are just pulled up with instructions and done.
IMO anyone can do that.
I put my own spoiler on my first CRX, but I was young and crazy then...I guess I'd do it again

Yes. I had to return a week later to have all of the accessories (Scion Alarm, spoiler and foglights) installed.

We're very pleased. Actually, my wife is overjoyed to be driving a 5 speed again. She takes it out every opportunity she gets.

She won't drive my 5 speed A4.

I just installed the OEM spoiler on the xA and a Riv-nut tool is required to intall the threaded inserts supplied in the kit. The reason for this is there is no access to holding the nut to mount the spoiler.
I paid $120 for the Riv nut kit at Grainger.

Nice, thank you for the instructions. Good to have for those trying it at home.

Check the Orlando Thursday Night cruising thread (Southeast) too
