Default xA or tC??? Help I'm in a love triangle!!!

Hi all!

I'm looking into getting a new car. And I love the tC, I'm not gonna lie. But right now, I drive a '95 toyota landcruiser and I get roughly 180 miles per fill up. Now, I really want to get a tC, but I read that it doesn't get the best gas mileage?

I have been researching the xA and I'm really starting to love it. It's just so darn cute! But as far as wow factor and luxury I was wondering how does it do? I mean, the tC has the wow factor, but the xA has to grow on you...I think... I don't know. I guess its each person's individual opinion.

I did test drive the tC, but not the xA. I mean, does it drive like a econobox? Does it have a quiet cabin like the tC?

And I love the fact that it gets great gas mileage. So now I'm in a dilemma, I love the tC and the xA so I don't know which to choose. I am commuter student going to college and I roughly drive 200+ miles per week...

I mean, I will be having this car for the next 6-9 years and I just can't decide!

For those with the xA and tC how would you solve my problem?

Please help me! I'm caught in a love triangle!!!
:?

Rebecca

Sorry I posted in two places, but I wanted to get both sides of feedback...

I have the xa and love the car but i would really have loved to have the tc. It all depends on what you wnat out of the car. If you are planning on it being a solely commuting car then i would go with the xa for the gas mileage. But if you have plans to enter the aftermarket customization scene there is alot more love there for the tc. Hope this helps either decision is a good one. Good luck!!!

Go for the xA it gets more looks than the tC. The tC is nice but it's a wee bit generic in styling. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have one. With the xA you'll be the envy of almost everyone at the gas station. Mine's getting 37.5 owith about 90% Hwy., 32 with a combo of about 20% hwy and 80% city. Dump that Land Cruiser, bet it's still worth a nice sum.

Ya, I'm not sure...I mean, I would like a good commuter car, but I don't want a thin econobox? Does anyone understand what I'm saying? I mean, I think that there aren't many ppl that have a xA in my town, maybe 2 or 3. There are maybe 10 tC's.

I just don't know...

I know I'm biased being an xA owner, however, I try to read the posts from the xB and tC owners as well to find out the pros and cons of their cars, as well as other xA owners. I purchased my xA new in Jan. 06. It is a fun, agile, economical, and trouble free ride! I drive interstate roads everyday, usually 65 to 70 mph, and fuel economy is in the 36 to 37.5 range with auto trans and cruise control. The car handles well, and the cabin is quiet for a car this size. The front bucket seats are very supportive and restful, even for a long ride. The only negative in this area, is the car has a somewhat stiff, choppy ride; but after all, it is a very short wheelbase, lite weight car. I hope you join us as a new xA owner, but spend some time in both owners lounges, as well as test driving your choices. You can't go wrong with a Scion!

Nope. I rarely get under 65, I run 65-70 on the interstate. Vent on in the morning, AC in the afternoon on the way home. There's plenty of us on here getting this kind of mileage. I'm pegged right on about 2900-3000rpm's. Hey I was able to squeeze 23.5mpg out of my ol' '91 2WD Explorer, I know a guy that gets 30mpg with an Explorer, but his is modded to the max.

When I was buying my car I went specifically for the tC. Then I saw the red xA RS1.0 and that was it for me.

The xA is roomier and with a few goodies it looks great. I see tCs all the time but xAs are few and far between.

Get an xA, throw some nice rims and maybe a body kit and you'll have a great unique car for less than a tC.

I like the XA, more room for moving stuff with the seats down. Plenty of fun to drive.

Go for the TC I say. If my wife and I didn't have 2 kids that's what we would have gotten and I'd propably be stealing it from my wife from time to time (I think I may get a tc for me as my next vehicle purchase since we already have a good family truck). I personally am not a big fan of the xA for looks and power. I have a very roomy loaded Durango so I am not very comfortable in the xA. My sister in law has the tc and I am in love with it. She has let me drive it a few times and it has the power I need and is more comfortable all I can say about it is going from a truck to a tc is keep a close eye on your odometer because it will get you a ticket. The mileage isn't all that bad in my opinion but maybe that's because I currently get 12 mpg with my 360.

persoanlly I like the xA's style more than the tc, the tc looks like any other coupe out there, but the xa is unique.

ITA, Theoman! The xA's styling sets it apart. I've driven two-door coupes all my life, and now that I have my xA, I'm finding that driving something quite different is so refreshing.

Okay, okay. I've thought about and thought about it and thought about it and I ultimately decided to get an xA... Wow. I know, I said I was going to get a tC, but I think that xA offers more for what I want then anything else...

Thanks for all those that helped me!!

NO!!! Change your mind! You said you are going to have this for like 6-9 years! Where do you picture yourself in 6-9 years? In an xA?!? haha... I'm just biased because I LOVE my tC! Good luck with the xA though!
