Default Xa vsXB

Trying to get a XB but like i posted earlier wasnt able to. My sales rep said that he could get me into the xa for less money than they had to ask for. Any one have any pros on getting a xa instead of an xb. Try to convince me that an xa is ok. Maybe if i get the xa theyll let me trade it in for a box later?

I use to sell them and I would recommend that you get the xB especially after reading your post.

Beside xA has too many curves, save those for your women....or your wife if you are already married

well the xa is not as fast a mover off the lot so far as the xb. but it is a faster car.
if there was no xb it would have still gotten my attention. and no doubt be a hotly contested,in my heart, against the (outgoing) p5.
I think (don't flame me) that the xa interior, although less roomy is a bit sharper looking than the xb.
with a kit (see kenstyle) the xa can go from cool to very very nice looking.
the price is excellent.
indigo ink and silver streak mica are nice colors that dont come on the xb.
side air bags are an attractive option as well that doesnt come on the xb.
2 or three years from now there might be alot of boxstyle cars on the road and if so the xb might just might seem outplayed.
xA is a lower profile vehicle, both to other drivers and the police. In other words attention can sometimes be bad.
the honda fit (in one form or another) is coming and it would be good to have some natural enemies in place for that.

those are just a few off the top of my head. in short the provocative styling of the xb made me dismiss the xa far too early. when i was waiting(FOREVER) at the dealer to get the 6 disc installed i ended up thoroughly going over the xa that was in the showroom. I discovered that its a pretty cool car. more thoughtfully ergonomic than the xb. and more functionally impressive than the matrix (which many would scoff at me saying)

the xa is no throwaway nor should anyone think it "settling" for you to get one. drive it a check it out. SINCE YOUR OPINION IS THE ONLY ONE THAT MATTERS.

The xa looks nice, but I would go with the xb...It's totally worth the wait!

I was also thinking about getting the xa now and then later trading it in. Does anyone know how trading in a car affects your credit? Good or Bad?

If you buy new then trade in for another new car you'd be throwing away quite a bit of money. At first, cars depreciate fast . If you really want an xB wait for it. You could look to loose $3k-4k on trade in I don't know the exact #'s but on another car, one of my buddies was unhappy with a 4cyl model and he ended up trading it in for a v6 model. He lost ~$6k on trade-in.

Like I said, if you want the xB wait for it. Use that extra time to save up for mods, a bigger down payment (every $1000 lowers your monthly payments by about $20), whatever.

If you want to throw away money... I have a pay pal account, I'd be happy to take "some" But I'm sure you have a better use for it yourself. Whatever you get, make sure you're happy with it. :D

the xA roofline is TOO short!!, smaller than a Corolla or Echo I think. Not a fan of the sloping dashboard, not enough cubby places, IMO.

Stick to the Box.

looks are subjective... if an xB is what you want don't compromise.. I came from the xB side, the lines on it just don't suit me and I happen to prefer compact and smooth to right angles and big. So I have the xA... xB ppl will of course say they prefer it, why would they have it if they didn't? But like I said if you had your heart on an xB don't let anyone convince you otherwise... I happen to like the zip of the xA over the xB and I don't need the space of, and it fits the same 4-5 people just as comfortably, but not so much cathedral headroom for taller (more than 5'11") people

I had mine set on a Phantom Pearl Grey xA, and the dealer tried to convince me otherwise... rather than switch colors I just switched dealers

it looks like yer options are waiting for the Xb or going with an Xa. unless if yer hella bank and wouldn't mind throwing away money in the process of trade-in. which, if wuz the case, yer two cars in mind wouldn't be scion's.

it all depends on yer personality. a car should reflect the owner. yu don't see too many kids driving minivans or mommies driving s2000's, do ya?

the Xb looks more counter culture and the Xa is more conservative, following the trend that most styles of cars are moving in.[/i]

LVXB - I agree with you.

I think the xB is so sensational because it is so different. In a couple of years, I think the xA might outsell the xB because it's more "mainstream" looking.

I love both. At first, I thought the xB was the coolest because it was so different looking. The xA looked like a bloated Mini Cooper. However, you add a kit and some wheels, and the xA looks like a little Ginza Rocket! It looks more like a "racecar" than the xB. Just my dos pesos. As I mentioned, I like both. I also think I'd have to put more CA$H into an xA to get it to look the way I want (kit, wheels, springs) whereas if I were to buy an xB, I wouldn't put a kit on it; maybe a lip and the OEM spoiler, but no skirts/bumpers.
