It might be nice if a couple of us get involved right from the start. It would seem there are several of us who can help. I have been looking for an excuse to work another site. Maybe if we approach this like an open source project we might get this done. Maybe even do a bit more than just the forum. If we went with a Mambo/Joomla content managment with either phpbb or Vbulletin we could put someting up pretty quick. We should move pretty fast otherwise it will splinter and die. I liked XAtuner.com. If we can secure some cheap space then several of us could buy the various domains xatuner.net, xatuner.org and have them all go to the same area...probably pie in the sky but would be fun.

That's cool I just want to be careful not to splinter. IllNist and crew had done some good work to get it started. Work which could be reused. Maybe...maybe not. But I think they should at least be given a chance to respond.
Maybe we could set up a time when we (those willing to be involved in setting up a new site) would be willing to be on-line, find some chat room somehwere and brainstorm who could do what... I am an IT director for a local company here in Ohio, so I am used to doing the whole project colaboration thing.. But I want to be careful not to make anyone feel like I am moving in on their thing..

well to be honest, most people knew I had been in the works of bringing the site back.
I also find it amazing that no one once subbmitted any materiel to the site ever. not even people who emailed asking to help subbmitted any help. Its cool people are interested in helping now, but I am a bit curious how many will actualy follow through. please do not think I am bitter.
Just a little peaved about while I am doing this another site pops back up under a name I paid to copywritten.
there are a few people that helped out from time to time by buying decals and such and god bles ya!
But on the real, there were only empty promises for the actual submitting anything.
I know you think your helping buy starting dot net, but I am a honest person, and it kinda makes me wanna say screw it.

I've been trying to contact the owner from different sources, even tried calling the whois number but it seems to be private, I even said that was a temporary board until I hear something from the owners, and oh look, someone actually speaks now...
honestly for a forum that had under 200 users it does not cost much at all, I had a forum with 800 active users running perfect on a hostforweb shared server which equals $5 a month
It was a week and I got word back from no-one I even tried the xatuner myspace, so I decided to make a temporary board, and less than 6 hours of it being made someone involved in the site actually speaks up. So there really is nothing to be "peaved" about up until I made this reply.
So now its too late, and your making me look like the bad guy because of the fact that I made a temporary board it makes you wanna say "screw it"
Like I said, I even offered a $50 dollar donation to the owner via email while still knowing the fact that the site could easily be hosted on a $5/month plan and I wasn't the only one that offered donating money, it was also mentioned in the forums.
