Default 04-05-06 xb manual tranny are they the same?

Someone please help me. I have a 04 xb with a 5 speed manual tranny, i am trying to buy a new one but the problem I'm running into i hear there is a c50 and a c150 5 speed tranny what's the difference? Do i not need to worry about that or are the 04 05 an 06 tranny's the same? On mine the started is on the motor side bolting to the tranny an I'm finding one's that have the starter on the tranny side bolting toward's the motor!!! Why and what's the difference? If i get one that the starter is on the tranny side do i need to change the starter as well? As you can see i need help ...lol

Starter and transmission are identical for the automatic, I can't imagine the manual would be different. My 2006 auto went bad after a failed thermostat caused it to overheat (transmission and engine cooler are shared). Replaced with a 2004, was a drop-in fit.

Not nothing. the '06 changed ECU's, and a few engine sensors. The knock and water temp sendor won't plug into a 06 harness from a 05 block. The threads in the block are the same though, so sensors can be swapped.
