100+k miles and beyond.
Hey guys I have always wondered how many of you out there have 1st gen XB's with over 100k, 200k, and 300k on them and what sort of things or problems you encountered along the way. Such as when did the factory clutch take a dump. What about the alternator? How about the CV joints? Any other problems with the car as the miles piled up. I am just curious as to how reliable these cars really are as the miles pile up. I am almost to 75k on my 05 box and am just curious as to what the future holds.
i have a 2004 auto with 124,000.
recently i had an oil leak on the camshaft timing sensor, needed a new one
probably a result of switching to synthetic....i will be switching back to regular oil at 125k

I've got an 04' xA with 160k and have NEVER had a problem(at least that i didn't cause) just changed belts recently and camshaft position actuator, that's it. has taken a serious beating through long rough dirt roads but still no ill effects. not even a squeak. i love it!
'04 xB. Bought in '08 with 92K, currently at 140K.
Had normal wear items (front brakes, plugs, tires, belts)
Only non-normal item was the manifold to exhaust gasket. Other than that I've had no problems.

Bought my xB in Sept of `03. Now have 176k+ miles on it. Had to do a tranny rebuild due to bearing failure. I attribute that to switching to synthetic oil in the tranny. Bad move on my part. Engine is still running strong on dino-juice. No other major issues so far. [Knock on wood]

Hmm.. I had a 2005 Scion xA with just over 100k.. the CV joint was going bad.. apperently.. which caused this.. http://s972.photobucket.com/albums/a...a/Car%20wreck/
But that was my bad. I really should have changed it when I noticed it and I'd still have the car. Good news is.. I'm buying another one with just over 100k and I wouldn't have it any other way.

i ran that car as hard as it could go after the first 500 miles best lil car i ever owned and traded it back and got $5600 for it that lil car still had a 100,000 left in it no problem
i changed the belts 2 times plugs every 50,000 oil every 3000 even tho they recomend every 5000 and i used every brand of oil i could buy for a 1.50 a quart and flushed the tranny(auto)3 times was well worth my money
I switched my 2006 manual to synthetic in both engine and transmission a few months after I got it.

eh.. Just don't let it go very long..But yeah.. The median's in South Florida are made of play-doh.. so when you hit them, the car just stops and all of the angular momentum has to disperse somewhere else and usually ends up in the car rolling.
