Default 1st gen scion xb cat-back

i Purchased a greddy sp2 exhaust not too long ago and i was under the impression that it was cat back. wehn i received the package i opened it up to find only the rear section exhaust. i called greddy and they informed me that they dont make a cat-back exhaust system for the xb.....something about everything is welded together or somethin like that. i was just wondering what kind of work and money is involved is customizing that section of of pipe (from my dc sports header-to the axel back)?????

Coming from your header you have; 2 inch piping, pre-cat O2 sensor bung, Cat., post-cat O2 sensor, 2 inch piping into resonator, the resonator itself, 1 3/4 piping out the resonator going to the rear axel where your exhaust bolts up everything is indeed welded together where on most cars the mid pipe usualy bolts up to your cat. xA/xB owners got screwed. You could go to a muffler shop and have 2 inch piping done from the cat back but you would have to use the OEM connection for your muffler since its a secific type, which would render your piping since its Diameter is still 3/4. You real alternative is to not use the OEM connection at the rear axel by welding it all together or using a generic flange. either way its a lot of work just to make the car annoying and loud. I did it and I regret it.

Are you measuring outside diameter or inside diameter? Because from the header to the cat the walls on the piping is pretty thick.

1.75" in and out

header to cat is 2.5" cat to resonator 1.75"

so pretty much that after cat tubing diameter screwed us over

I wanted to do the same thing with a Cherry Bomb glass pack. Let me know how it works out and if you do it.
