Well the transmission is toast in my brave little toaster so rather then fork over the almost 3k to fix it I'm wondering if anyone knows what engine and transmission combo will work in my xA with the least amount of modifications, Scion xAs are very rare in my area so finding replacement parts is near impossible and I'd rather get something with a little more power and not have to split the engine and transmission.

I haven't changed my xA auto trans this is not a guaranteed answer, but the xA is supposed to use the same engine and transmission as the Echo. See if you can get the xA and Echo repair manuals to compare.
