Default 2jz motor fwd conversion in an xB

hey there i don't want people to freak out when they read this tittle. I am a car crazy kid who is going to automotive school and want to be in the custom car scene. well my freind has a scion xb and i fell in love with it in 2000 when it made its release in japan. well i was looking over the engine bay of his scion. i got a crazy idea for this car. i would possible like to do something that would blow the socks off of people who put down the toster. I would call this project the sleeping bread burner. well the plan is this

the concept of swaping a 1jz or 2jz motor in the car. this motor comes out of a supra or cressida. more famous the supra. well the possible plans would be to make this popular engine a fwd motor. i know that you can drop any motor in an car but to stick with the best of what toyota makes whould be awesome. i would need a transaxle possibly a 5 spd manual, i would have to relocate the battery, and many do some major work. i create this topic for everyone to make a bad ___ car. i don't want people to put down this idea usless you have facts. but the main goal is for scion owners to come together and create an ultimate scion xb. well please leave your feedback and give your honest opinion. this will cost money but i am willing within these next couple year to possible do this my self. but for anyone who has the money to back up this idea then go ahead and use it.

so give me tips on what to make this plan work. again i say this will cost money, but to kno you have an ultimate ride. that is what i live for so please help me out with the planning and details for this project. i want major feedback

theres an old school vw bug in my area with a v8 in it. he had to move his firewall back a few feet and he is almost sitting in the back seat. anythings possible. your best bet on having a quick scion would be to drop in the 2zz and turbo it. that would even be a TOUGH project

Anything is possible if you have the money and time.

Thing is that most people who buy Scions lack in both areas

It has been talked before, that a 1ZZ and 2ZZ is a possible swap but will require a bit of modification and cutting. I've heard that EL Prototypes is developing a kit for a direct swap to a 4EF-TE Turbo engine (Starlet Turbo) The motor has a LOT of potential, but because it is a 10+ year old engine, it may be a problem in certain states.

Hmmm...it costs about 22 thousand to do this in an IS300 which has a 2JZ to begin with...so why not just buy a Supra instead.

I suspect that if you did this for FWD, you'd need a custom tranny and to redo the fron of the XB...it could probably be done for around 80,000.

Firewall's in the back, framehead is up front

If I want to swap motors on my xB, I'd find something more practical and requiring less extensive changes. If you're gonna look into doing a conversion, how about trying to get a RWD setup?

Haha! Orange minds think alike!

Actually, one of the techs in my shop has a pipe dream about dropping the ever-popular small block chevy in the xB. The best working theory on this for the moment seems to be making it a 2-seater with a mid-engine. Biggest problem at the moment is the cost of taking a perfectly good (and basically new) xB and cutting the everlivinghell out of it. Even wrecked xBs are around 5-8K in this area. So, for that reason, this idea remains a dream at the moment...

Put it this way, plan & simple, if you got the time & money to invest, then you can put whatever motor you want into the xb.

ok ok....yea i like those ideas... but nobody adressed the idea of nissan motor swap.....the famous sr20.... yea that motor would w be pretty nice and then just drop a turbo. wouldn't that be a good idea. the usdm 200sx has the sr20 in it and its fwd so just a lil work and i think you CAN GET SOME SWEET POWER. and if you decided to do more that a stock turbo you can have hp up to about 400 -500. you can do some real damage

Okay, no offense man, but you go to school for this stuff?

Why the hell would you want an SR20?

For less amount of trouble, you could have a 3SGTE instead. Which would also be a huge pain in the ___.

You could also go 4AFTE, which is your best bet.

now that yall have ideas about motors swaps for the xb....about axles ---SNAP, SNAP ..with all that power....more money then its worth ...just slap on a turbo and boost 6-7 psi safely...unless u have the money and the urge....anything can happen...

would it be possible to sleeve the stock block and get some custom pistons and then boost the ____ out of it? or is that just as far fetch as everything else being suggested?

no its possible, but people dont usually want to do this to a 14k car. running at 1.6L with sleeves turbo and fuel is gonna run you at like 5k. Then youre gonna want a new clutch and a brake upgrade as well. stuff costs alot.

You are talking about the 7M-GE. I wish the cressida came with a JZ
