maybe someone should do a new intake shootout

I think that's a good idea, the shootout that is.

So does that mean they aren't going to rip people off with ridiculous prices with minimal gains now?

Looks like a compilation of all the successful designs on the market especially the Injen intake.

As for shootout....you know I'm all for it. But I'm sure as hell not doing it again because of the heat I got for helping out last time. But you know where I stand so far....Injen still rocks!!!

Someone try to prove to me otherwise.

i'm all for a new and improved shootout too, i know mark took a lot of crap (alot from me for sure - sorry about all the drama again man!) for the shootout he did, and i know i got plenty of heat for the testing i did on my car.

but i still think we should get together and do a definitive Dyno Shootout - do every shipping intake, and put it all to rest once and for all.

with all the people we have, i'm sure we could all organize something together that would work - maybe a dyno day / bbq event??

anyways, it's all good in the hood - really i just wanna get my car back to the dyno and see how much hp i gained with my new DC headers ;)

Is it basically an injen intake but with the AEM sticker? Looks exactly the same... Until i see dyno results all i can say is that I am proud of my Injen.

Yes. I took off my foglight cover so the intake can get it's coldest air.

SocalBbox- "For all you Injen lovers all I have to say is this...why??? Here's the love they show the Mazda owners You gotta see this "

When the competition follows our lead, that alone speaks for itself.

It is actually flattering that a "manufacturer" uses our intake as a base. Obviously they saw that Injen made more power so why wouldn't they release something similar? We see this happening with most of our "First To Market" releases.

Our motto is "We're leading the way." Our simple goal is to offer a quality product and show you a true dyno result.
We don't make dyno's on spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel. We show the low, mid, high, and peak. Why just show you the peak? Every customer and potential customer deserves the truth. We show you the testing procedures so that you too can mimic the results as closely as possible.

You have many choices. We thank you if you chose Injen. We also thank those for considering Injen for their vehicles.

We do care about all of you regardless of your decision. Maybe today, you might pick another brand. Maybe tomorrow, you will choose us. We are proud to be a manufacturer that cares about the consumer, not a marketing giant or profit making machine.

By the way, we wanted to thank the consumers for purchasing the Injen Intake so we included decals, a license plate frame, and a very special xB emblem. In fact, we released the engine cover, oil cap, and soon to be released this summer, the xA and xB stainless exhaust system.

Thank you again from all of us at Injen. We will continue to do more research to make more parts for all of the SCION models. We also thank SCION for providing us with an xB for product development and marketing purposes.

Do you honestly think AEM didn't think of this design? I'm pretty sure that they were wrenching away on the Scion's before Injen, because they offered a system for the release of both models last summer.

It is actually flattering that a "manufacturer" uses our intake as a base. Obviously they saw that Injen made more power so why wouldn't they release something similar?
Let's not go there... xA's new intake, c'mon Ray you are gonna have to do better than that.

We see this happening with most of our "First To Market" releases.
First to market? I would put in a bit more R&D before making such statements. Like I said earlier, I'm sure your Mazda fans love you. Do you honestly think someone is going to knowlingly buy a system that throws a check engine light? Then believe your response to the matter? CARB? Such a high quality product.

Our motto is "We're leading the way." Our simple goal is to offer a quality product and show you a true dyno result.
Like baselining a car and then 4 hrs later dyno'g the car again? It's pretty easy to manipulate the dyno for "real results". Ask anyone who owns a dyno.

We don't make dyno's on spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel.
So the average of 3 consistent runs doesn't work for Injen?

We show the low, mid, high, and peak. Why just show you the peak? Every customer and potential customer deserves the truth. We show you the testing procedures so that you too can mimic the results as closely as possible.
Ok. AEM shows the full graph. AEM has their testing procedure and temperature procedures on their site. It's funny how many people forget about the RSX day. If I recall Injen said that a cold air couldn't be made on an RSX...

It's a bit frustrating to read this because I've dealt with Injen for over 4 years and installed quite a few of their systems. The quality just isnt' there when you compare them. I know you are new on board to Injen Ray so we'll see how long you stick around.

Do better than what? What can be better than an Injen Intake for an Xa/Xb that can be used as a short ram and a cold air, make great power both ways and keep a competitive price?

A bit more R&D? maybe you should do your research on what you are talking about. The Mazda 6 has nothing to do with the Scion, but since you bring it up, lets see what the real story is........The Mazda 6 check engine light problem happens to all the other aftermarket intakes, NOT JUST INJEN. And when i mean ALL, that INCLUDES AEM, which at first ignored their product was having the check engine light issues, untill other AEM intakes on Mazda 6's started popping up with CEL's also....The Mazda 6, CEL was coming on because of a lean condition that happens at low RPM's (idle). Which doesnt hurt the car one bit. With our intake, Mazda 6 owners are getting 18-22 wheel horsepower and our customers dont care about the CEL issue... And also the CEL problem doesnt happen to all cars, some cars have been running around with INJEN itakes for 5-6 mos, with no CEL...Try to doing a search on mazda6club.com forums and see how most people feel about INJEN compared to AEM, People favor us and our product. We are straightforward and honest with our customers. We put things in black and white...And yes, people do BUY our product with the disclaimer, because they know they are getting into, and making 18-22 to the wheels is something they want to get into.

Like baselining a car and then 4 hrs later dyno'g the car again? It's pretty easy to manipulate the dyno for "real results". Ask anyone who owns a dyno.
How can you make a claim like that? Have you been spying in my dyno room and maybe hiding under my car?? Thats a claim that has nothing to substantiate it.

You bring up RSX day??? Okay, second time, what does another car have to do with a Scion? Wow, you sound like an AEM employee...For the record, We didnt say back then that a cold air couldnt be made for an RSX, it just WASNT AVAILABLE at the time that dyno day was conducted? Tell me how do you compare our short ram to a cold air? And also since when does it take 2 guys to sit in the RSX while getting dynoed, and why were there wires hanging out of the RSX's ECU anbd leading into the glovebox and under the dashboard??? Maybe you forgot about those issues huh?Could it be something was being done to boost the numbers from the AEM?

Well its a bit interesting to read all of this. Because you sound like an employee from AEM that is sore about us throwing better numbers down. Blitz, SPFR, K&N, AEM, and INJEN all make good parts....You come in here talking trash and atacking Injen and only Injen, you dont have anything to say about the other companies? Why dont you just come out clean and say you work for AEM? and that you are tryin to discredit INJEN and myself to boost sales of AEM? is it because AEM sales are down? You bring up facts like the Mazda 6 and RSX dyno day but only tell half the story? Yes, i'm new to the board BUT i'm not to to the industry and the the cars, and yes i will stick around like i've stuck around for the past 11 years.

Let's see more horsepower but I have to drive around with a CEL. Hmmm...So when my car a problem I'll never know because the CEL is already on. I hurt the car and then what. Is Injen responsible? I prematurely hurt my car due this lean condition. Is Injen resonsible? Maybe if I heard this explanation from Mazda it might be different.

Maybe I'm retarded and I'm the only one who thinks that this is not ok.

How can you make a claim like that? Have you been spying in my dyno room and maybe hiding under my car?? Thats a claim that has nothing to substantiate it.
I got that from Injen's website. The dyno's are posted with time stamps. BTW ask your Injen employees about spy shots. I know they have some good ones.

I don't see a Blitztech or K&NTech or AEMTech on here promoting their products and sales and trying to wooooooooo the people. I'm not a salesman. I'm here because I own a Scion. I'm sure that's not why you are here. If you sell eleventybillion intakes more power to you. The people should know as much as they can before they do make that choice.

I can respect the little guy trying to break in and stake his/her claim with big nuts like SPFR and the like. I know the difficulties of working with plastics and rotomolded parts.

Maybe with your 11 years experience you can teach Injen a few things.

I'm not here to gain support of the masses, just to point out flaws.
U need to try harder and mask what you are really trying to do, which try to badmouth and discredit the company that is in direct competition with you. Ben, why dont you just reveal that you work for AEM, and put all the cards on the table. The enthusiasts here know where I work and like our company, so why dont you do the same?

I'm not here to sell intakes either.

Whoever said i was? I'm here to show product and answer questions. And to educate , while respecting the competition and while not making erroneous claims against the competition.

Like i said before, Mazda 6 owners know it and accept it....AEM's intake(and others) can cause a CEL , BUT we are admitting to it and letting the customer know.

BTW ask your Injen employees about spy shots. I know they have some good ones.
Thats pretty funny. Now why would my guys need to do something underhanded like that? I'm not goint o stoop to your/AEM's level so I'll leave it at that. But if i wanted to stoop to your level i can easily do it and susbstantiate it, and not just sit and make claims. And also, this isnt the place for it.

I look at Injen as a company to bring some light to new Scion owners who's first car might be an xB.

You totally dodged the issue again. Like i said, if youe are going to tell tales, dont write about only one half. Like i said, The fact is that variables were convoluted. Comparison between our short ram and your/AEM's cold air? Also, the fact that the car had some mysterious wires coming from the ecu going the firewall and why were there two guys in the car?

I don't see a Blitztech or K&NTech or AEMTech on here promoting their products and sales and trying to wooooooooo the people. I'm not a salesman. I'm here because I own a Scion. Maybe with your 11 years experience you can teach Injen a few things.
Are we playing a game of dodgeball? Because you like to "dodge" alot of issues. You are an employee of AEM here to try to discredit my products. Why dont you just admit it. For a big company like AEM, you are playing a very immature game....Injen doesnt come in here pretending to be a normal Scion owner and put down other companies, because we are professional..Enthusiasts here like our products and support us. If they end up buying something else, thats fine by me, but i wont try to persuade them by putting down other companies, including yours. I dont need to teach Injen "a few things" because this company makes a great product, conducts honest marketing and has a good customer base and support.

An intake soap opera. Who would've thought? I wonder what's going to happen in the next episode...

Make love, not war!

Injentech, I know you mean well..but try not to directly bash (lack of a better word) the competition, or bash at all! I know this is a forum, but you're still an Injen employee. If you weren't an Injen employee and you said "When the competition follows [Injen's] lead, that alone speaks for itself," it would've been fine, but you have to represent your company as humble as you can. Let the numbers speak for themselves.

SoCalbBox. *gasps!* You work for AEM? You fooled me! Twas a low blow from Ray to let the cat out of the bag, but at least I know that you aren't here to flaunt your AEMness. Also, sorry for holding you on that Hotchkis Strut Bar for a week..

Lastly, if all goes well, I think I'm going to end up with an Injen intake. This is because AEM doesn't seem to be on the ball with the xA. I don't want to buy the AEM CAI and have the thoughts of the CAI not being tuned specifically for the xA... Unless AEM comes out with something comparable to the Injen's xA systems...Injen it is.

(3 hours later...)
p.s. Injentech, I don't think I saw this pic in your sig earlier...but you have to take the pic out of your signature. It's not allowed

Injentech,

You are making a fool of yourself and your company for hiring you. You should be representng the company, not arguing over who's is better. You are probably in your late 20/30's, yet you act like a 12 year old. I'm sick of hearing your crap. There's no need to bash anyone. You have probably just lost a customer.
