Default Alternator Issue?

I replaced my battery about 6mo. ago.. and had my box sitting in the carport for about 3 months. Someone recently broke into it, and took my amps and subs. I jump start the car leaving it on for a good 30-40mins. and take it for a spin. Everything seems okay, and I lock it back up.

Next day, I go back and unlock it and won't unlock. The battery is completely dead.

Basically, the only way the car can start is by jumping it. Could the reason be the alternator?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you might have an electrical draw? Something is "sucking the life" out of the battery!

OMG... it sounds like the elusive carpire really does exist... quick, give it gas before it's too late and dies again!

Since you said someone took your amp I'd guess you have a wire that's being grounded (something they caused while taking it). You know it's not your alternator or the car wouldn't run, a car will run without a battery, all the battery does is start the car, the alternator keeps it running and the battery charged.

It sounds like if you took out all the stereo stuff you added you'll fix it. To make it easier why don't you just unscrew that cable from your battery that goes to your amp and tape it somewhere safe so it's away from the battery, then recharge the battery and see if it's good the next day or two.

It could just be a faulty battery. You can have it tested at any auto parts store.
If it's only 6 months old, it should be under warranty, which would give you a free replacement.
