Anybody installed a supercharger in their xA?

i think someone who actually has a supercharger needs to post. even though i own a tc, i have been long interested in modding an xa/xb, and i too would like to hear an opinion from someone who has done it, not from people assuming. xa/xb are nice cars. i was almost an xb owner

and speaking from first hand experience.
i do not own an xA so i won't comment on what it can do for it. or what fits.
and to please Jessica a bit... go look at the featured ride... and try to put two and two together...
it does run low 14's...its not that hard to get a 15.9-16.0 car in the 14's...
It appears that a certain someone enjoys an argument here.
The bottom line is that mods to the xA and xB can make it pretty quick, whether she wants to admit or not. We're all aware that it will cost dearly to do it.
She mentioned saving money for a faster car as opposed to s.charging or adding a turbo to a Scion - well, if one is in the Scion market, it will likely be a long time til disposable income exists for a Lotus (or whatever). We're here b/c most of us aren't Lotus clientele, and won't likely be in the near future. So what's wrong w/taking what we could afford and making it better? Let us have our fun.
My older brother is buying the new Lotus Elise (of which I am very envious), and we're joking about racing for pinks once I get the turbo installed. So, Jessica, I'll keep you posted. Though what if I have to move to Lotuslife.com to talk about my new ride?

Hahaha if that is how you are going to start off your post dont continue to argue afterwards. Somewhat hypicritical. Enjoy the lotus those are fun cars, your brother is going to love it. Have your fun with the scion, it is clear you ignored what I previously posted and continue to make assumptions on what I believe about these cars. And with the exception of one person posting a link to some actual recorded times you all continue to beat around the bush. Enjoy your cars.

whoa, oh look what i started!!
jessica i was only making a joke!
you obviously know what it means to have a really fast car, but honestly i dont see a problem in making the xA a little more competetive (specially in its class). for me, if i were to get the supercharger i am 100% positive the car would be a helluva lot more fun to drive, which is what the whole point of it is.
just cause its not going to run 14s doesnt mean its a bad idea, just means its not going to be able to smoke other cars that can...
my last car was a 92 camry SE v6 5spd, which ran a 15.2 stock (and let me tell you that is my idea of fun!). id like to get my xA to about that amount of accelleration, cause then with the added plusses of handling, it would make for a very well balanced sporty ride (which is all that we xA-ers can hope for at the moment)
theres no need for bashing or arguments, i think this was just simply a large misunderstanding.... CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG???

I completely agree Jon, it's all about having fun in our cars! I'm glad we're on the same page now friend! Nice choice on your RS1.0, looks like we have something in common with our RED RS1.0's! Arguments are great, they make me laugh!

Are there any xA drivers with the Blitz (or any) supercharger??
And Johncal, how about those fogs! How hard were they to install? Looks nice!

Since I started this thread, I thought maybe I could add just add my 2 cents here....
First off, my "other" ride is a Suzuki Hayabusa, arguably the fastest "production" vehicle on the planet. You can argue it, but there is no proof anywhere that this is not true. It is the fastest, crap your friggin' pants thing you could try to hang onto. Try 150+ on 2 wheels and you'll know what I am saying ......0-60 2.3 seconds, 1/4 mile 9.6@145MPH. You're talking 160 rear wheel horsepower @ 520 lbs wet. YES TWO WHEELS!
THAT MY FRIENDS IS FAST
Now then,
The xA may not be the quickest thing on the planet, but I already have that covered to my satisfaction anyways with my 'Busa.
With that in mind, the xA is a pretty light vehicle. Adding 40-50% more horsepower to something that is as light as the xA will make a significant difference.
I've been driving and modifying Toyota's since I was 18. My 1976 Corolla had Addco swaybars, Bilstein shocks, stiffer springs, low profile tires. A full header exhaust with2 1/2" pipe ALL the way back. (I used to design custom exhausts for a muffler shop). I also jetted the carb, polished the ports, ripped all of the polution controls off, modified the intake tract and more. Try even finding a lot of that stuff back in '76. It was all "real" racing stuff.
Not only was I doing this before "TUNING" became popular, I was doing it before most of you were a gleam in your Daddy's eye.
For around 30 years I've been enjoying modifying and driving Toyota's to their limits and have a pretty good feel for what they can do, and LOVE the unique feel that only a TOYOTA has.
I think the xA is one of the most beautiful cars Toyota / Scion has ever built and would rather drive that than anything else, and affording anything else is not a problem.
I think a supercharger is also the way to go. A lot less complicated to install than a turbo, and a lot less damaging if something goes wrong.
Mabe I just like Suprchargers 'cause I'm "old school"

I was showing how completely inaccurate your statement was. Besides not understanding my comparisons, you don't seem to understand that we are not trying to make our cars an {fill in the blank} killer, just trying to make them better.
Why would you upgrade your suspension? Perhaps to tweak it to what feels better and gets you the most out of your car? Same goes for performance upgrades.

not for nothing here but everyone neglected to mention the fact that a blown or turbo'd xA, or xB can eat up a tC. So think about that...the money it costs for a kit plus the price of the car=still probly less than an RS 1.0
"Suzuki Hayabusa, arguably the fastest "production" vehicle on the planet."
Actually there is plenty of proof and plenty of vehicles that are faster. The new GSXR-1000 and ZX-10R both dyno over 160rwhp and weigh less than 425lbs wet. Also your 'busa tops out at 196mph fast but not nearly fastest.
McLaren F1=241
Pagani Zonda=220
Ford GT=205(limited)
Ferrari Enzo=217
Carrera GT=205
Lamborghini Diablo=208
Jaguar XJ220=212
Edonis=227
Koenigsegg=242
The list keeps going if you would like me to continue

Since you seem to be so pickey and take everything so literally, suspension is a performance upgrade. Or does performance deal strictly with straight line power in your world?
