Default Borla exhaust noise update

A while ago a posted a thread about my squeaky Borla axle back after i banged the tip really hard. After going to the dealer who could not fix it and the muffler guy they recomended who charged 20 bucks to wiggle it and frown a bit, the problem was still not fixed. The dealer put in a new gasket and said good luck but it will probably burn it up again and cause another leak. So after being tired of getting jerked around i went to a different muffler place. The guy there just welded the flanges together.....5 minutes....10 bucks....problem solved. Now if you have this problem and don't mind having your axle back permenatly attatched, this is the answer. No more squeak, no more leak, no more loose wiggle, no more BS.

Ive never installed a Borla axle back, only a DC sport one and my full header back one. But i dont remeber seeing a gasket where the axle back connects, just the clamp. Where is the gasket they replaced at? Glad to hear you got the problem fixed and no more squeak or leak.

The gasket fit around the pipe that fits into the other. I guess it was supposed to act a seal of some sort. Aparently it was made of ceramic material which basically disentigrated when the leak alowed exhaust gas to get to it. Yeah it's fixed but if i ever want to put a different axle back on i'll have to cut the old one off. I don't see that happening any time soon though.
