Default Borla Single Installed With Pictures

Installed the Borla single, axle back exhaust today. I thought about returning for the MagnaFlow cat back after the Borla showed up as a rear exhaust, but after spending some time listening to the MagnaFlow sound clips I decided to wait for a few more cat back options to make it to market before dropping the extra $ for one. Anyway, the bottom line on the Bola single, axle-back is that it is really nice. It sounds amazing. Quiet and deep. There is nothing rice about this rear system. I think it looks great too (oval shaped sized 4" x 3.5"). Installation was very easy. All you need is a jack, WD-40 to lube the rubber hangers and a ratchet. Performance difference is very noticeable. Up till now the only performance mod I had installed was an Injen cold air intake and performance enhancement was there, but minimal. Coupled with the Borla I definitely feel the added hp. I will try to add video clip with sound tomorrow, so check back if interested.

You can get one from me, www.precisionmuffler.com . Aparently the one I can get is the one that Minsk99 has on his. Thought the part number was for a dual exhaust, or even the cat back.

Looks pretty nice. I can't wait to hear the sound. If you are taking requests can you try to do one form inside the cabin as well as outside, Mr. DJ?

How much did you get it for and where? Do you think the install can be done by a rookie tuner?

thanks for sharing, man!

It sounds great. Very quiet at all speeds. Deep and cool. "Mature" sounding for lack of a better word. You don't sound 17 driving around with this exhaust. I don't think there is any chance of getting hassled by the cops with this (at least for noise). Picked mine up for $252 at:

I am definitely a rookie tuner, with a capital "R", and this was no sweat at all. I got a cheep ___ jack and stand set at Pep Boys for $29 and a can of WD-40. If you have a ratchet then that's all you will need. Lube the rubber hangers very well and the old muffler will slide out easily.

Sweet! Does the oval tip look like a bigger version of the stock tip? I've been wanting one like that...sorry I just looked at your pix again and answered my own question! Thanks and I can't wait to hear your exhaust.

Below is a link to the video with sound of the Borla axle back. I got a free, temporary space on this media sharing site, so the videos will be there until the 27th. Anyway, if I can figure out how to get my site builder to let me put Windows Media files on Earthlink I'll move them there permanently (at least for a while). Enter the site and open the Borla video album. There are two files. The first, Borla Sound is the xB revving in neutral. The second, "Borla Drive" is a short video of cabin noise while driving. Unfortunately the sound sucks on this one, but hopefully you get the idea.

That sounds pretty tame. It sounds good but I still like the sound of my Magnaflow better :D
