Camshaft position sensor questions!
Got a check engine light and had it read. Code was P0010 which is:Camshaft Position Actuator ABank-1 Circuit Malfuntion
Changed the Camshaft Position Sensor on the rear of the block. Light was still on. Tried to have the code cleared MANY times at my house, AutoZone, and Advance Auto, no one could clear it.
Obviously, it wasn't the sensor.
What else could it be? Please help. Yes.....I said HELP. Don't respond with your "One time....." stories. I really do not care. I just want info on how to fix this because my emissions test if coming up and if this isn't fixed, I'm guaranteed to fail. Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

did you replace this?
if not....
check the sensor right above the alternator

Thanks, my man!
I have been searching allllll over the internet for some answers and I just found the thread those photos are from right before you posted that reply.
COMMON MISTAKE MOST PEOPLE/AUTOZONES/ADVANCE'S/NAPAS MAKE:
P0010 is a code for the Camshaft Position ACTUATOR!
Most people see the code, read the first two words, then assume it must be the Camshaft Position SENSOR. Two completely different parts.
I checked out the actuator, tested it for power and it was reading dead. Gonna order this part ASAP and hopefully I'll get it before my emissions test.
I hope more people see this thread and don't waste their money changing out the Camshaft Position Sensor for no reason.

The sensor or the circuit has a malfunction. It's a small sensor on the cylinder head that tells the computer where the cam is at. (It's important information) It's not an expensive part and easy to replace on most engines.

Wrong. Read my follow-up comment above.
The SENSOR is fine, the ACTUATOR is broke.
People, start paying attention to minor details.

Yeah, got the part in today and replaced it. Cleared the Check Engine Light. But I also had the VSC and Trac Off lights on. Never knew why, but when I cleared the CEL from the P0100 code I got, it cleared those lights too. Odd, but hey, I'm not complainin'!
Welp, gotta run, goin to my emissions re-test that I will now pass! haha
