Hey viewers.

My '04 toaster has about 240K miles on it. I've noticed lately (and it seems to be most notable when I exit a freeway) and I come to a halt, there is a clicking sound on deceleration. It's a stick shift, so I also use the transmission with braking, but when applying the brakes, I'm getting a clicking noise from the rear, and the clicks reduce as I get slower, which tells me it's a moving part. My first guess is the drum brakes, or pads. I'm going to take a look at the wear on these today, but if anyone can think of something else, let my know. I'll put up some pics when I get some tools to remove the pads.

By the way, is there any good write up in here for replacing drums for the Scion? I've only ever done disc brakes, and only replaced the front pads on mine. I like Eric the Car Guy's videos, so I might take a look, but if anyone can let me know what tools work with removing the springs, clips, etc. on the drum.

I learned doing drum brakes by removing one side only. If i dont remember how something goes back, i just go to the other side and check how the pieces should go bavk together. And lube the back plate where the brake shoes make contact. Should be 3 contact point on each shoes, so six total on each side. GL
