Default Cold air intake installation

I'm getting a cold air intake soon and I'm wanting to know how difficult it will be to install it myself. I read an article on-line and it looks as though the front bumper had to be removed in order to install the intake, is this true? Keep in mind, I'm not too at home with working on cars, but I am good at reading (easy to follow instructions). So is this an installation that anyone can do, or should I leave it to the pros.

Right now It's looking like the Injen CAI is the one I'm going to go with. eBay offers slightly cheaper prices then my local retailers. (Right now I'm getting quotes at around $250.00)...Does that sound about right, or can I find it much cheaper elsewhere?

Thanks in advance for the info.

Intakes are generally one of the more easier mods ot install. They are not difficult they just take some time and a few basic hand tools. Removing the bumper may not be nessecary for all installations but when I went to install my K&N intake in my xA I removed it so I could get my hands in a few crucial places to tighten items down. I actually have more difficulty changing the headlight bulbs in my car than I did installing the intake. So this would be a good mod to start with if you are uneasy with changing things.

Just be very careful with the Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF), it's rather delicate and very expensive to replace.

There are plenty of how-to for installing intakes and even for removing the bumper in the tech section of ScionLife. :D

Most of the time you don't have to take off the bumper to do the intake, just take your time and double check everything.
