Uh, drill holes in your muffler? What do you mean louder? Exhaust wise? Remove restriction. The TRD is probably one of the quieter aftermarket exhausts out there. Refer to the exhaustive exhaust pipe thread for more information.

TRD exhaust is really quiet, you should get a new exhaust, an header, and you should be pretty loud

I have the MMW 4-2-1 header and it really didn't do anything for sound. niether did my SR injen.

what made the biggest difference for me, was the resonator. I went w/ a full cat-back custom exhaust and originally, I didn't install a resonator. way too ricey - and loud. Then the muffler shop installed an 18" resonator - really a glasspack - and now it's deep and low.

you could do the same in reverse - have a shop play around w/ different size resonators. probably a 12" would be to your liking. or just drop it out all together.

i have strup headers, fujita sri, and trd exhaust and its decently loud when i get on the gas.

its enough for me although i would like a deeper tone than the trd exhaust has.
