Custom Air Intake...

Custom Air Intake...
OK, this is probably a dumb idea but I will throw it against the wall anyway...
One thing I noticed is the openings for the foglamps...does anyone think that there would be any way of routing plumbing from where the stock air intake is all the way down to the foglamp opening? I know, the engine bay will probably be too tight but I was just thinking that getting cool air directly from the bumper would be a good way of helping the engine's performance...
Anyway, I know we don't have anything to really answer this anyhow but I just want to gauge how stupid an idea this is.

i tried something like what you're describing yesterday on my xa... the stock air box has an extension pipe that connects right behind the headlight... not much air to suck in back there. i popped the extension out of the bottom of the air box and stuck it in upside down so it pointed towards the foglights. it doesn't make much of a difference, it's an airbox not a cone filter. if you didn't have the airbox and had a cone filter on the end of the extension then it would definately make a difference.
