Default Do I need fuel injectors?

Hey all,

My '06 XB has 325k. Runs solid. Always maintained. New plugs, oil, trans flush, coolant flush, you name it. Which is why I've got 325k and still going strong.

However, she's a little on the weak side accelerating and going uphill etc. lately. Nothing major but clearly not the same pep she used to have.

I was considering replacing the injectors. After this many miles I'm sure they aren't 100% efficient but before I went that route I wanted the forum's opinion.

Thanks.

You should probably look at getting a compression test first, then check the valve clearances. 325K is a lot of miles and even the best designed engines with the best maintenance will wear out. It doesn't mean the end, just a difference in the maintenance required.

Nominal pressure is 213psi. Minimum 156psi. delta between cylinders 14psi
Valve clearances IN .008" EX .012"

Thanks RichBin. I'll have to get her to a shop for that. I don't have the hardware to do a compression test or check valves. I was thinking it might be something like that too which it why I posted before I started buying parts.

Much appreciated
