Default ebay header

anyone care to comment? I'm thinking about a header and have read up on both the 4-1 and 4-2-1 configurations... I'm leaning toward the 4-2-1 and found this:

Hey Peterbilt,

I have been told that the eBay headers are crap unless they are the Megan Brand. Those are pretty good for the money.

I've heard some good responses from people who have Megan headers on their xB, and you can't beat eBay's prices either. If its what you want, go for it. However, this is coming from someone who is skeptical about buying performance parts from eBay, too. But, it could end up being a good deal, as well.

eBay is simple! ____ty feedback=no business Good feedback means=business, there are a few people that sell Megan and have good feedback.

IMO That doesn't look like a 4-2-1 header...and the flanges don't look too good either. See how they look cast, with pits in it and such? And thin too. There are some better ones on ebay...just have to look for them. I wouldn't buy THAT one but would buy a header from ebay. Keep looking...you'll find a better one than that.

slipknot-

thanks. your post is a great example of why I love Scionlife and it's members. research, questions, ideas and product info. can all be found easily and quickly.

thanks again. I hadn't looked as closely as you did and kinda felt the price was "too good to be true".

Check out the headers from T-pros or EBStores. They look like pretty good quality and come with gaskets...HINT look at where the tubes enter the collector. Some of the cheaper ones look like they are pretty restrictive and poor quality welds. The T-Pros one has good thick flanges, comes with gaskets, tube to collector looks good, and only $70+. EB Stores also has the same type and may even be the same company. They also sell Megan but are a little more. Take your time and check them all out. There are good ones out there, just gotta look, thats all. I am in the market for one myself!

Just search around, if there is a particular brand you're looking for, look at the seller's feedback. Most power sellers on Ebay have 98% or better feedback, anyways, but still, can't be too precautious. If you find one that you're unsure of then by all means share it with everyone else and they'll be glad to give you more information on it.

I've dealt with many Ebay auctions in my time and love using Ebay, but just be careful of what you buy, and watch out for those deals that are TOO good to be true. Remember, you get what you pay for.
