Default Engine swap

I was curious to find out what motor from the toyota family will fit the xB, i was thinking about this because i was reflecting on a project me and my older brother did on a AE86.

Nothing worth putting in there will be easy. And by that I mean you will have to make your own motor mounts and saw up your car......just leave it....or do an ls1 haha

it is an 1nz-fe.

you could maybe swap in an engine from a celica gt-s, the 2zz-ge.

look dude, it is infinetly easier to swap in different engines on older cars because they were all mechanical, but now cars have ECU's that run the whole car and they are tailored to every single car.

with older cars, as long as the engine compartment was big enough, and the frame sturdy enough, you could put anything you wanted under the hood and it would run fine.

to give you a good idea how hard it is to swap engines on modern cars, read this:

I have been told the Lotus Elise has the 1nzfe motor, and there have been motor plates made to install a Honda K engine..the rsx/tsx motor. If you have deep pockets, and get the whole engine, drive train and ecu, its supposed to work...I would think custom fabbing of certain key systems would also be involved. With the right camshaft, intake manifold and header, you can get close to 300 hp and no turbo. Please dont come at me because Im just repeating what the local Honda expert said...I really have no idea...but if you want to look into it...it probably would cost soo much...your probably better off with a nice turbo kit with goodies...good luck...even someone putting a different throttle body off another toyota engine looked to be too much work..just send a stock one out to be bored and replated, cheap...like 130...there is no magic bullet where this little engine/boxcar is concerned.

You are severely misinformed! The Elise comes with a 2ZZ-GE which is the motor found in the last generation Toyota Celica GTS.

the toyota family has very few engines that are FD that produce anything worth a damn for the effort your going to put in.
For the cost your almost better off doing a FC V8 swap. I did and was happy with it for quite sometime till I sold it.

When my engine goes, in the scion, I'm going to do a honda b20b swap. I've done it before in a 80' CVCC and the aftermarket support for parts is 1000x better than anything for toyota.
It's got torque and not bad on the gas. I'm just waiting for what I have to give out and finish Nursing school before I even consider taking on a project that will drain me of income.
