so im going to be in the market for an exhaust soon and had some Q's. First, whats the diff between axle, and cat? i assume since cats cost more those are for sound and performance to where axle is just sound. Also what do you guys have?/recommend?

 

It means exactly what it says. Cat-back is from the cat back, and axle-back is from the axle back.

 

yea thats obvious, but what is the reason for the cat costing more it cant be just cause of it being more pipe i assumed you get more performance out of the cat back

hey, my box is now registered in north dakota so nomo smog worries for me, but i wana get all the piping redoen, larger to match my axle back, and a high flow, or no cat, what does everyone suggest?

 

get typhoon intake with strup headers and exhaust. Sounds super loud!

Take a look at the Espleir JGT500. I think it's the best sounding. (I have one for sale in the classifieds section), but even if you didn't buy mine, you should look into it. Comes with a silencer, too.

 

zya i have the espier too, it by far the loudest, best sounding one ive heard so far.

 

Full catback has the larger diameter piping from the cat back too the muffler. The axle back is only the larger piping from the rear axle to the muffler, so you are reall bottlenecked from the cat until the axle. I would deffinately choose to go full catback.

 

They're all axle backs including the Tanabe. Magnaflow is the only company offering a full cat-back system.
