Default Exhaust question

Okay this may be really stupid but i have a question. I got my box from a used car lot and it was advertised as having an exhaust tip. Upon further inspection at the dealership and at home i saw that there may be more to it than that. Can you guys tell what i have? is it a borla muffler and tip or is it an exhaust system or what? I have no knowledge of this and any help you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That appears to be Borla's axle back. Their complete system has two pipes coming out of the back.

yeah it really does need a good cleaning. I have had it a week and havent been able to start on anything underneath. So, the dealer was def wrong when he said it just had a tip. Do the make an axleback that isnt dual? Ive looked around and i thought they were all dual. Thanks for the quick response guys.

no it sounds really nice, not at all like a bolted on tin can. if it is indeed a borla exhaust, any estimates on how much it would cost?

Borla axle back you got there, Borla is known for retaining a lot of water thats why they come with a life time warranty. Always go bad after two years. Just keep it and use the warranty when ever you can.

Hmm, I've got a Borla on my Matrix that is at least 2.5 years old w/ at least 44k miles on it, and it hasn't gone bad.

My custom Magnaflow center exit exhaust on my xB drips as much as my Matrix w/ the Borla.

Consider yourself lucky, Borla is not a product that I stock. I have had too many problems with them and customers coming back. Its the material they use in the muffler, it soaks the water up, The magnaflow pushes it out though the exhaust. If your Bolra is still good, I applaud you. I won't stock Borla, too many problems with them.

Got to your local parts store and pick up some "mothers polish" That'll bring the life back into your muffler. Its a polish made for metal, its only about 6bucks. Works great, I use it a lot on my tips. :D
