Default fuel filler pipe

is it metal or plastic? I know that the gas tank is plastic. I want to figure out how I'm going to run my fuel return line.

Instead of taking a chance of damaging the charchol canister by using the filler neck, thats where the line is.
Try using the plate that the fuel pump is mounted, drilling it there makes it easier to plumb by following the lines already there. doesn't harm the tank or filler neck, and can be reversed at a later date in caseyou need or want to remove it.

Who the hell told you the gas tank is plastic? Both the gas tank and filler neck is metal, the charcoal canister is plastic.
