Default Fuel problem

Hello to everyone, I looked but couldn't find a situation like this. A few months ago my 2004 xA stopped taking fuel, the previous time I filled up it would take it at the pump as fast as the pump then one day
I tried to fill up and couldn't get any gas to go in the tank, thought it may be the pump so I went to other stations and same problem. When I got home I was able to put gas in with a gas can.
Assuming the vent lines were clogged I disconnected both lines near the tank and forced air through them in both directions with an air compressor. I did here stuff come out into the tank (could have been a sensor for all I know).

Blowing the lines did help me get fuel in, now I can go to the pump but it's not as good as it once was. However when I fill up for a while the car has sporadic power loss as if the filter was clogged for 10-20 miles.
I was going to replace the fuel filter but saw on here that it rarely needed changing and was in the tank. I also seem to have gone from 37 mpg to 32 mpg.
My guess if still fuel filter but I may have broken something blowing air through the fuel tank vent lines too.

Ideas would be appreciated!

Jct thank you! I'll pick up one of those and see if that fixes it!

Unfortunately my car is not the only thing broken, I haven't gotten to it yet. I'll try and let you know when I do. I do have to work on stuff outside so if the weather is frightful I'm slow!

sometimes it takes me a while to get to things, I replaced the charcoal canister about a month ago but haven’t really driven it. I fixed it because I lost a lot of power getting home one day. After putting the new canister in I discovered the alternator had locked up and broke the belt. That was a disaster to fix because of corrosion and a couple of bad alternators. Tomorrow I will try to drive it, hopefully it will work! Sorry for the long delay but I just got to it!
