Default Fuji's review of the injen short ram

First of all imma thank Injen for making a sweet intake.
then putning.com for the scionlife discount intake.
then Squirrel for recommending me the intake.. (he know his nutz)
then Mr_rabbit for telling me where the stock air filter and everything else was over the phone.

So I decided to DIY on the intake install. Im not a mechanic and never worked on cars. This was my first engine bay mod all by myself.

Overall the install was very simple. It was not time comsuming, xcept for me since i took my dear time to do it right.. I did scratch the underside of the intake with a screw but it was no biggie.

I was going to wait to have it powder coated but after fixing the busted toilet at home i decided I was on a roll and installed it.

After I intalled it I went for mini cruise and after I arrived home I told my sister what I did and she asked if I just pulled up cuz she heard a Louder noise (like a lawmower noise) and after she said that I knew it wasnt my head imagining more horse power.

It picks up faster and the lag time between 0-60 has improved. The takes off are better and when cruising at a set speed and then floor it the response is way better.

I have yet to fully test it in the express way to see how far my adrenaline reaches.

take fuji's word for it.. it IS worth it.

It sounds like a breathing dragon and It feels like im driving a jet.

Damn, thats some review....I have the same intake, I will be installing it in a few weeks along with the rest of my new mods. I'm glad it isn't too hard of an install too.

You're welcome Fuji.

I try not to recommend any mod that I haven't tried myself, or least help install, or ridden/driven a vehicle that has the mod.

Good job on the DIY install also!

i went on the express way and the difference is noticed up to 75mph

after 75-100 i didnt noticed much..(maybe i was concentrating on the road)..

okay so im not really sure waz up with that..maybe its in the 3k rpms.. im not a techie but from reading around im posting this stuff..but it is noitced up to 65-75 on my behalf

entering on the ramps and changing lanes on tight space is well worth the intake since it responds very well.

if yall dont beleive me..i dare you to install it..

however your driving is your responsiblity so if yall want to speed and all go for it.

but that was my review of a semi fully tested injen short ram.
on my next fill up ill see if the MPG increased.. then after i might do a road trip.

anyone happen to know the size of the filter like the opening area that connects to the pipe... ive seen em range from 2" to 3" in speed shops and i wanna make sure i get the right one... i gotta replace my filter soon and would rather just get a new one that clean the old one

I also have the Injen Short ram and must say ... the noise the intake makes is AWESOME and you can def feel the difference.... install was a snap - directions were very precise (im not a engine bay mod person myself and this was the first intake install i had ever done)

thanx guys

tom

just take it out and take a ruler or tape measure to it. but why replace when those are made to be reusable. what are you planning to replace it with? a k&n?

replace it with the same filter... rather then spending the $ on a cleaning kit and taking the time to clean it ... its easier to just buy a new one ... that way i dont gotta worry about how well i cleaned it or actually have to do it

filters are cheap ... so id rather have the piece of mind knowing that i got a brand new one .. not something im not even sure is cleaned 100%

Replacement filters aren't that cheap. I'd rather save the money and get the cleaning kit.

Hey fuji, when you bought this short ram intake from ptuning.com did it include a MAF sensor?

Need to know.. because I have an 05 xB. I dont know if that matters.

Stupid question but, does it effect gas mileage? I would assume worse, but you know how that goes
