dang...that takes up alot of space. i used en Injen Short Ram.
how much space are you lacking? do you have another nut under the cai clamp on your battery? i would think you could just use 1 nut on top of the cai clamp to hold the battery down, you don't need both.
or maby ( in this order) thread one on then a washer then the cai bracket then another washer then the battery brace then the other nut. must be a way to tweek it and get it lower so you can still use your strut brace.

if none of this will work i think my tower brace is tall enough fo you its also cheep on ebay

Thanks for the input Carl! It does seem that I have to get a tall brace. The original brace was very low profile.

I was looking at a JIC tower brace. It's going for over $200!!! That comes in orange powder coat!

I'm glad you posted this. I won a fujita intake of my choice and didn't even think that the CAI might hit my APR strutbar! I guess I should look at the SRI too before I pick one!

IDK, do you think the CAI will fit under this thing? It's already pushing one of the hoses down.

The only thing bad about the SRI that goes straight out from the manifold (IMO) is
1.)unless you stick your head in the engine bay you cant see it and
2.) it leaves a big gaping hole of emptiness between the battery and engine.

I have the DC sport strut bar, i dont recall it being any taller than the APR bar and it is pushed forward a little. I also have the Injen CAI with no problems. Could the Fujita really be that much taller than the Injen? If so thats a shame it wont work with a lot of strut bars. Some of them are really nice looking.

yes the Fujita is that much taller, I used to have the AEM CAI and it was fine with a sturt bar, but the Fujita will not work. I have a fellow club member that had to take his DC strut bar for his to fit.

Thanks for the info! I guess it's SRI for me. I'm only bummed because either intake is free so why not get the flashier, more expensive one? At least I can get in there and clean between the battery and engine!

Some stuff on clubxB on the same issue and how to make the fujita fit...

you will like the sound and performance of the SRI better anyway. the only thing i don't like is the hissing noise when i shut it down.

OK, I'll take your word for it! :D

But it begs the question...

Does anyone know if the SRI will work with my OEM foglights??? I know fujita had to make an additional piece for the CAI to work with the fogs and I didn't know if the SRI had the same issue. Thanks!

Yes I did! Thank you again for the helpful tip! Sorry no step-by-step pics.

Took me an hour. Cut, assemble, and cut again. Be sure to clean out the metal debris before assembling. I stuffed the intake with an old shirt...finished cutting then carefully pulled the shirt out. The cotton shirt pulled most of the debris out of the intake.

I now have 3/4 inch clearance from the strut bar. No noticeable difference in performance by downsizing the pipe.

Now the strut bar fits! YAY!!!

Excellent!!!! Well, it's not excellent that there was no performance improvement but I'm glad it all went together! you've got the best of both worlds now! Thanks for the pic. Now I'm getting the CAI too! I've got tools, why not? :D

So there were no problems installing it once it was shorter? It looked like there's a bracket off to the side on the intake that might not line up right and I was worried about it not fitting or putting stress on the intake so it would rip open like this example that had no modifications...

http://www.clubxb.com/forums/f28/12498-fujita-busted/

I guess since I've seen 2 modified, it must be OK though.

Please keep watching this thread because I may have some questions for you when it comes time for me to break out the hacksaw and dremel! Good idea with putting the shirt inside btw. thanks!

Sorry. The intake does allow more air flow. What I really meant is in no way did this mod degraded my intakes performance. I rather drive with this intake than my stock air box. VroooOOOom VroOOOoOooOOOOOOM!

Wow! That guy broke his intake. I will never see that in my engine bay. By modding/shortening my intake, I was not able to bolt the bracket to the battery tie down...so I cut the bracket off because it was scrapping the side of my battery.

It doesn't vibrate much or hard. It's clamped really good to the throttle body!!!

Oh, thanks for the clarification. If I'd re-read your first post I would've known what you meant.

And yeah, that is a great pic! :D

No, I did finally call them for my free intake and found out I have to just send in my certificate and wait. who knows how long it will be before I get it. And then who knows how long it will be before I have the nerve to chop it up and install!
