i heard that the bags were not that great tho

I would have been happy with all of that, second filter mostly!
Because I don't have to worry about cleaning and drying right away. I can take the old one off, put the new one on and then don't worry about having the other once clean until next season... it's nice. :D

ok so i just finished installing it
when i turned on the car the Maintenance Required light flashed a couple of ties and stopped
is that supposed to happed
i am due for my 20k oil change so that might be it
is there anything i should know/be worried about if something come on (lights, VTC, etc)?

If you haven't gotten the oil changed at the 20k mark, the Maint light will flash.
Make sure that the battery was disconnected (which almost has to be to get the filter to sit) You should also let the car idle for 5-6 minutes to let the ECU figure ish out.
If you did everything right, you shouldn't throw a code. I've had mine on for over a year (actually almost 1.5 years) and I've never thrown a code.

yeah i let it idle for 5min (my dad wanted to go take it out right away)
lol
then i took it for a spin around the neighborhood
it sounded really nice
im glad i got this mod!
