Default Ground Wire Kit Question???

First off, I am not sure if this is in the right section so if not feel free to move it.

Second, I have read the DIY on the ground wire kit and my question is will a 12 gauge wire be substantial enough to make a difference?

I know a normal kit come with 4 gauge and that the person who wrote the DIY used 8 gauge. so i was curious if a 12 gauge will be too small to make an impact?

I plan on doing this tomorrow (Friday) so responses will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help guys and girls.

Considering 50% of people who do it don't notice anything anyway... I dunno. The difference between 12 and 8 gauge is pretty good... if you already have the wire, give it a shot.

ok, thanks! yeah i have noticed that most people do not notice a huge diffrence and even less with the 5 speed so i am not sure what it will do, but it is an easy mod and i have some time on my hands.

thanks again.

I used 4 gauge wire on my DIY and I noticed my headlights were not flickering anymore when I had my sub woofer setup.

Didn't notice any power gain but the shift response on my auto was better.

I've had it installed for the last 4 years.

cool, thanks for the response. the 12 gauge actualle does seem to improve some things like throttle response and like you said some of my electronics are working better.
