more stable current flow... maybe a smoother idle but that's it... good for people with big stereo setups (ground wires = big3)

I say you should check your wiring. It should idle at about 800 rpm when warm. You must have something wrong.

Exactly right on. Makes idle smoother and helps overall efficiency of the electrical system. Snake oil That's funny

Mine idles in drive at 400-500 rpms. Butter smooth

Default Ground wires?

Does installing an aftermarket grounding kit in anyway void the warranty? Does it have to installed by a certified mech? Is it better to make your own kit or buy one of the prefabs? Installation seems simple enough, just don't want any dealer service problems since it is brand new.

It will only void the warranty if the part is found to cause a problem. You can install it yourself. You can make your own to save money. Buying one just makes it easier.

there's generally less unbolting and re-bolting for a kit made by you... the big 3 will give you same results with less small wires running all over...

I found out yesterday at the dealer that ground wires do indeed make a difference. I took my Box in for the 5000 miile oil change and to have them check out my A/C since it isn't working. The tech opened the hood, saw the grounding kit and prmoptly pronounced the A/C problem to not be covered by warranty. The service manager told me it would be 280 bucks to do a diagnostic of why the A/C isn't working. Oh, the other reason my warranty won't cover the A/C is because I commited a moral sin and installed an after market stereo. I'll be taking it to another dealer tomorrow.

tell them that they have to do tests to PROVE the ground wires/aftermarket stereo was the cause of the problem... Magnuson vs. Moss act states that they can only void the warranty if the modification is the DIRECT CAUSE for the warranted part's failure... THEY MUST PROVE THIS!!!!
