Default grounding kit write up

The supplies you need for it is about 6ft of 4 or 8 gauge wire, whatever you perfer to use, make sure that is is audio grade oxygen free copper wire. You need 10 conecters, copper eyelets, 9 5/16 and 1 3/8. You need some soder, rosin core, a propane torch and some heat shrink.

1. You will make your first cable from the passenger fender, from the strut tower where the grounds are atached, to the alternator bracket. There is a bolt hole that isn't used on the bracket. I belive that it is a 10 mm bolt 1 inch long. You measure the cable and make sure there is some slack in the cable for some engine movement. You will cut the wire and strip back about an inch of insulation. You will take two of the 5/16 eyletsand position them. You will take the torch and begin to heat up the conecter until you see a green flame. You will take the soder and run it around the joint and it will seep down ito the conecter. Once it is cool you will put the heat shirnk around the ends to protect against corsion. You might have to bend the ends to get everthing to fit right.

2. The next cable you will make will run from the alternator bracket to the throtle body, there is a stud and a nut on the top closest to the radiator that you will use. You will make this the same way that you made the first one. Make sure to positon the ends because the cable will not twist so well.

3. Then from there you will run a short cable from there to a place on the block, you will notice that there are two 10mm bolts that have ground wires atached to thm that you will use. You will use the top one. Make sure to measure this one right otherwise it will be hard to get them on. So one you have them make you will put the two ends on the throtle body and tighten it back down, but no to tight because you could pull the stud out of the intake.

4. The next wire you will run from the lower bolt where you had place the other one and run it down to the engine ground which is on the transmission below the battery. This is where you will use the 3/8 end because of the larger bolt used to secure the main ground.

5. The last wire you will make up is from the ground from the battery at the body right next to the battery to the ground on the driver's side strut tower.

This is where you can place the wires, There can be alternative places but these seemed to be the best becaue you link in the electrcal grounds in the harness.

Also to make everthing a little easier you will have to remove the airbox to get to the grounding points.

Parts and places can be substituded this is just what I did, So you can preform this at your own risk. But it is a cheep and easy mod that can save you money from better gas milege, and you can use diferent color wire to dress up the engine compartment to add some style under the hood.

If some one wants pictures I can take some and email them or some one can tell me how to host them.
