Default HOLY HEADERS BATMAN!

Ok, someone fill me in on this.. ( can't DL pics please click my links ) thanks

exhibit A:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DC-SP...spagenameZWDVW

exhibit B:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DC-SP...spagenameZWDVW

Both are from Ebay ( so you get what you get ) One header curves down and the other goes straight out from the ports. So which one is the faker?

I'm asking this because I don't own an xB. I drive an 03 Echo. So I have no engine bay to look @ myself, or I would. We share the same engine, header, exhaust, transmission. AND I'm in Iraq atm so I can't even look @ my own engine for reference. Thanks

Exhibit B, gotta be the fake. Look at the box behind.... also look at the assembly itself, kinda shoddy work on the connections. Its a buyer beware deal....I bought some TEIN hood dampers.....they have TEIN stickers....but, as I found out...they aren't TEIN dampers....chinese knock offs....as my hood slams down.

both are real, one pic shows the correct header for our engines ( exibit A ), the other (exibit B) shows another DC sports header not for our engines. it is common for ebay sellers to show an image of a header that does not match the engine you are buying for, just be sure to ask them if the item will match the picture or the discription... i have had my DC Sports headers for about 2 years now and could not be happier with the fitment and quality... big HP gains, but any perf header with equal distance on each of the 4 tubes will give you the same gains, what you want to look at is the 4 tubes meet in the collector. the cheaper headers will have $hitty welds, and will be noticibly restricted in that area... i can vouch for the DC Sports ones being A+ quality, ceramic coating is also A+, does not get nearly as hot as steal or Chrome... this is important you want the headers NOT to retain heat and as we all know, chrome sucks up heat and diapates it very slowly... makes me wonder why so many people have chrome intakes... i know there are other good quality headers out there & many people on SL can testify to the quality and gains, but i have only used the DC headers so they get my vote.

I was thinking the same thing right after I sent the post. Maybe it's a header, just to show what you're buying. Not necessarily THE header for the car.

The reason I want the DC is to stay CARB legal and the ceramic header is cooler ( temperature-wise ) It would go well w/ my DC muffler too. DC is just a good company all-together anyway. I wish I wasn't so picky on everything but I refuse to cheat myself ( and my car ) on some crappy Ebay header.

Thanks for the input, I was thinking along the same lines

The DC Sports Header, Exhaust, and AEM Cold Air Intake are designed to work together to make maximum power. I think that would be the best way to start.

I had read a work up in Import Tuner or Sport Compact that fr all of those installed there was only like a 12 hp gain. I was expecting alittle more than that with that combo...maybe Im expecting too much... oh well.

is that 12whp or 12hp? because if you think about, a turbo and s/c only give the xB like 30 more hp. If you can find really good deals on the I/H/E setup, $ to HP ratio you are doing pretty good.
