So I've finally gotten around to some performance mods (besides handling) and am doing an Injen shortram along with a Magnaflow muffler w/2" custom piping from the resonator back. I've seen alot of SL guys who's opinions I respect running similar setups with good results. Should both be on by Monday.
Have a few questions...
What increase in (actual) HP can be expected? Is 8-10 too optimistic?
Also, how much of a difference would a header make to this combo? Been reading about 4-2-1 units that look interesting, but I don't know if I really need it on this car. I'm more interested in lower RPM power than top end (more use around town than highway...)
Thanks in advance for your insights everyone.

I have the INJEN SRI, DC Sports header, and custom catback 2.25 Magnaflow based exhaust.
Don't know about number gains as I have never dyno'd, but I'm happy with it.

The injenSR will give you good bang for the buck. It's hard to say how well the exhaust will work out, because you're talking about going custom. A header will help, but increase the sound a lot.
Keep an eye on the Injen intake. It may get your MAF sensor dirty, a few peeps have had that problem, including myself... Try to soak up some of the oil on the filter before installing it.
Good luck

Thanks for the advice Don... also for the throttle cable pics you recently put up, I'll be doing that one too.
For the exhaust I was planning on just some simple 2" piping from the resonator to the muffler, keeping everything forward stock for the moment. Wanna hear how that sounds.
I read someone's post in another thread (eggie I think) that it sounded much better before he went from a simple axleback to a full catback with a different resonator (less fart-can). Also I've read that 2.0" is better for an axleback setup, so unless i hear different that's what I'll have the guy do at the custom shop on Monday.
Don't really care about hardcore dyno numbers, just the butt dyno

Yes, before you install the SRI, wipe and clean the inside thoroughly.
I went w/ 2.25 for more flow w/ the header. I know some who have 2 inch, but the axlebacks I had made were 2.25.

I went w/ 2.25 since I knew I would have a header since most of my driving is on the freeway.
You can't hit me up anytime on PM or email, with questions.
It's nice to know that someone other than myself likes my xB! THANKS!
