I got my intake today and the silver is pretty much exactly like my silver xB. The install is pretty easy with just a few contortion moves. Just as I finished it started raining hard here in Dallas. My wife also just came home wanting to go out to dinner so we head out in torrential rain, a real acid test on the filter hung out behind the bumper. No issues though. When we got home I checked the filter and the sock was wet but keeping the filter fairly dry but I was nervous.

Anyway she goes in the house and I can take the car out for a real test drive. It is still misting rain and the steets are very wet. The first thing I noticed is the sound of the engine is totally different. Not louder but meaner from 2500rpms to red line. 2nd, 3rd and 4th feel smoother and and the engine pulls harder from about 2500rpms.

I have not driven an xB with any other intake so I can't compare. Maybe someone around DFW can meet up and we can do some comparisons. From stock to K&N feels nice and I really like the sound. Not a swoosh more air sound, but a growl. I can't wait until it drys out so I can test 1st gear without tire spin.
