Default KiLler axle back straight pipe *VIDEO ADDED W/ SOUND*

Like many......I've had the problem with the crooked tailpipe.......blowing nasty black soot all over my bumber. After I jacked up my car to take a look........I decided.......HEY.........why not just scrap that monstrous, heavy POS of a muffler, and run a straight pipe, with a decent tip.

So......I did. Only thing I still need to get is some exhaust hangers........cause I forgot to buy them when I was buying parts.

The setup actually has a really nice sound to it.......very low and pleasing while cruising, and a nice aggressive growl when revving high.

Maybe it's just the placebo effect.......but I feel like I've got a bit more peppiness. I wouldn't doubt it with the freeing up the flow by removing the muffler. Plus....that muffler is pretty heavy. But then again.....maybe it just SOUNDS faster.

Anyhow......here's the pics (sorry, some of these aren't the best, it was dark out):

I live in vegas. Not much in the way of exhaust "loudness" inspections around here. I had my muffler hacked off on my Volvo for years........no one ever cared. When I got the car smogged..........they just stuck the sensor in the pipe where I cut off the muffler. And THAT THING sounded like a bloody jet engine. This setup is not exceptionally loud........so I don't think it would be a problem.

Showpao.......I picked up piping at Pep Boys.

Probably because in Cali, people are more wary of discarding their muffler........cause the laws are more strict, and more striclty enforced. But I'd be interested to know if this straight pipe setup exceeds Cali exhaust dB limits.

Hehe........hell yeah. I'm all about the cheap stuff. Plus......I don't really have anything to make bends with.........and even if i did, they'd be a standard bend, which reduces cross sectional area. At least with the flex pipe.......I can bend the pipe and not kill the cross sectional area.

Gabe..........unless it falls off, yes, I'll still have it on.

Denzinz, yes.........I did use that exhaust tape that is like plaster. I dunno how good it is.........but I only used it where the flex pipe meets the joint from the stock muffler (I cut that off and attached it to my straight pipe, so I could use the stock compression fitting to put it all back on).

I don't think it matters much..........the clamps I used probably gave enough of a seal. I tightened the begeesus out of them.

Update.........I've got vids with sound. I'll post them soon..........when I get back to my house where I can upload to my website (probably tomorrow). Beware.....unless you have broadband..........these vids aren't for you. We're talking 5-13 megabyte files.

Ok........just out of curiosity..........if people like the sound.............would there be any interest in buying this kit? I figure I can make a complete bolt on system out of this. Obviously.........this is something most people can probably do themselves. However..........I know not everyone has the time or the desire to go purchase all the parts.....cut them.........put them together.......etc. If I were to make this a completely bolt on kit........would anyone be interested in buying? Price would include the price of parts (about $50) plus a very small labor charge. I'm not looking to rape anyone if they actually want me to put a kit together for them. What do you think would be a good price for setup like this? I want to get some feedback before a slap a price on this...........plus.......I want to see if anyone would even be interested in buying the kit. If not........so be it. Figured I'd ask.
