I just did this at a exhaust shop about a week ago. I love it. It is loud but, while crusing it has a lower deep tone.

My b/f & I just installed my magnaflow cat-back over the weekend. Getting the back piece in was a little tricky, but we finally figured it out after wrestling with it for about an hour. It was totally worth it! The sound is awesome. Yes its loud but its not obnoxiously loud like some of the lawn mower sounding cars you hear driving around. It's definately a deeper tone... sounds like a beast. I'd hafta say its one of the best sounding exhausts I've heard on an xB so far, and I'm not just saying that cuz its on my car! :D

hey did your cat still have a resonator on it or is it pretty much a striaght pipe to the muffler? Im planning on upgrading my piping and debating weather or not to take off the resonator.

Everything I have heard is that you will want some sort of resonator installed. Apparently the exhaust on the xB gets pretty annoying without it.

Dont take the resonator off. It will effect your proformance.

The resonator doesn't affect performance so much as it does tone and sound. Removing the catalytic converter on the other hand does affect performance negatively.

I have the Magnaflow w/ custom resonator back piping and love it. A bit more power, but mostly great tone, not at all ricey.
