Default Magnaflow Question.....custom cat-back

Hey guys,

I just ordered the Magnaflow SS Series 6" Round Model#14813. I saw a resonator (I think) in the middle of the xB I was just wondering if I take that out and repipe with 2 1/4 would I sound to noisy? If so, should I reuse the resonator and just repipe?

Thanks in advance,
Hubert

If you repipe it with a new resinator, it may be a perfect low tone. The 6in round street muffler is pretty good. The only down side is that the muffler may hang low below the tip, so becareful on the driveways. Also if you just install the muffler and remove the stock resinator, you WILL sound like a rice rocket.

You can use the stock resinator on a repipe if you want, but if you want the most flow out of your exhaust. Use a new resinator with the right inlet/outlet size, becasue the stock reinator has a 2in inlet and an 1 3/4inch outlet. It may be quieter then you think, remember you got the street series. Street series is quiet.

if you have your own muffler, at my shop it would be about 150.00. So try using that as your base price around your area. 2 1/4in pipe is perfect for our vehicles. Glad I could help.
