It is time for an oil change. My 06 will do that, eventually the light will stay on. It will need to be reset. I beleive this info is in the owners manual.

If it wasn't reset on your last oil change it will need to be done (reset). Most places will not reset this if you are having your oil changed by someone.

Maybe you need an oil change or you're close to needing one.

Maybe not. See above posts. It will NOT reset itself after an oil change.

It means you either need an oil change or the last time you got one it wasnt reset. It is normal my 06.5 did this already and i called the dealership right away and it turned out that the last time i had my oil changed it wasnt reset. It's perfectly normal nothing to worry about. If your not due for an oil change then just reset it.

Like everybody is saying. Either you are due for a Service or whoever did your last Oil Change didn't reset it. If you want to Reset your Light.

Here's how you do it: Hold the Trip/Clock Button Down, Turn the Key On. The Maintenance Light will either come On and stay on, then go Off or will Flash several times, then go Off.
Once it goes Off, Turn the key Off and then Release the Button. Then Start the car up and it will go Off. Try that.

i have NEVER had a Scion/Toyota service tech reset the timer while at the dealer for scheduled oil changes. i always have to do it myself after the fact--good thing it's so easy to do : )
