Hahahaa this isnt a confusing post....just a difficult one.....all I want to know is how would you make a engine and drivetrain more reliable without adding power......I think since I took "adding power" out of the equation i stumped alot of people....how very sad....I give props for all of those that actually answered the question at hand....good job to the few that actually comprehended

Something that started too confuse me...

You said we couldn't use anything that would ADD power to the engine, then listed things such as intake and exhaust.

The stock intake and exhaust systems inhibit horsepower, by upgrading them your only ALLOWING or RESTORING horsepower to the eninge.

My uncle taught me somethings about engines and power in general:

Higher compression, aggressive cams etc., MAKE power.
Intake, Exhaust etc., ALLOW power.
A tuborcharger, supercharger or Nitrous ADD power.

What would I do to make my vehicle more reliable? Never surpass 3500 RPM and properly maintain my engine and transmission....

yea I know, its a cheesey answer..

Hey where are my props for the tranny idea!!?? Well, now I feel swindled and feel I shouldn't give anymore non-HP advice. From now on I am forcing everyone to put on nos and buy that stupid thing from ebay that adds 20HP!!

Where's the love? :D

Yea you could never shift passed 3500 rpm....but still there are things you can do to a engine (ANY ENGINE) to make it more reliable....case in point 3rd generation RX-7 engine....ticking time bomb.....someone that actually knows what there doing with that engine knows and understands that before you can add power to that engine you have to make it better then stock and lower the damn engine temp....I feel this is my best example

I'm tired of pondering this topic. Can we get back to modding for power again? :D

Solid point, but I could never own a Rotary. I need a dependable-___ daily driver. All my FC/FD3S friends tell me their a money pit.

If you want to learn about reliability with performance, particularly a turbocharged motor, read Maximum Boost by Corky Bell its hella tight.
